Mason Mount Injury History
More and more I see people questioning why we signed Mason Mount and just in general people pointing to his history with injuries prior to signing with Manchester Untied. I'm not sure where this perception comes from but Mason Mount was NOT an injury prone player prior to signing with us. To back this up with facts here is a breakdown of his games played vs missed due to injury prior in the 6 seasons he played senior football before moving to United.

Is he injury prone now? Absolutely, just like seemingly most of our squad the last couple of years. I'm not saying there's a connection, I know we've completely overhauled the medical side of the team but I think there should absolutely be more of a discussion about the teams truly horrific recent history with injuries vs just throwing it out there that we signed an "injury prone" Mason Mount and now he's always injured.
Is he a bad signing? So far, I would say yes. I think paying 55m for a player that appears to be running their contract down is a bit foolish but I don't blame Mason for that part of it, he had no control over the idiots like Murtough who were "negotiating" our trasnsfers at that time. I think when Mason has played he has been a bright spot, always worked his ass off and he doesn't strike me as being the type that is happy collecting his salary in the physio room. I'm still hopeful that having just turned 26 in January that he'll get back to full fitness and become a great player for us but seeing people write him off because he has "always" been injury prone is just unfair on a lad that I think has been unlucky more than anything else
