TIL You can Ctrl C and Ctrl V on production facilities and it’ll not only paste your recipe but insert power shards for you too…
I’m 300+ hrs into this game, second play thru but first time getting to nuclear and free* power shards as I played about 150 hrs before update… 7? I think? Maybe 6 I don’t remember.
Anyway, wow, what a time saver. I know there’s a million hidden QoL tricks in this game but jeez. Is there like a website with documentation on all the tricks you can do orrrrrr…?

Why so much power? Why so much everything?
This has gotta be a FAQ, but it’s such a nebulous concept that I haven’t had much luck searching for previous discussions…
I completed the game a week or so ago, and I never needed more than 55 GW of power. I’m not bragging. It’s my first playthrough, and nothing I built was particularly efficient. I would absolutely have built more power plants if I needed them, but the need just never came up.
And yet, people are constantly posting their terrawatt or multi-hundred gigawatt power plants, their 1,000-per-minute motor factories, etc. Based on what I saw here, I was expecting to hit a pretty serious power wall at some point. But that wall doesn’t actually exist within the game.
Is all of this excess in the same category as the architecturally beautiful factories? I.e., “We build because it’s fun and rewarding, not for any practical purpose?”

TIL: Water Extractors now snap to walls
Water Extractors can be snapped to walls placed at the water line - so if those walls are aligned to the world grid, then the Extractor is, as well.

TIL over/underclocking affects more than just production speed
It also makes the machine's pitch slightly higher or lower, respectively, which is a really clever touch.

Don’t overlook the parachute
More than 1000hs in, I had never used the parachute. I remember something changed, I think they were disposable before, but never even tried to craft one, just waited for the jetpack.
Shame on me, this thing is awesome (and slightly broken, which makes it even more useful).
-You can use it to push yourself up if you go against a slope, so you can climb a lot of places with ease.
-No more death falls.
-You can Batman around by jumping and deploying the thing.
I wish the jetpack could be worn together with this thing.
