Have you all seen cotton largo with unusual look?

I mean some cotton largos like pink, phosphor, tangle, boom, crystal, and even honey have different tail and moustache. This has blown my mind and I'm still feeling they are weird. Aren't they?

But because of 0.6.1 patch, I don't think we see such weird bugs again.

I feel Shadow Slime is a missed chance

Of the new slimes, the Shadow ones are a clear miss for me:

1- they can't be vacuumed
2- they can't be mixed with other slimes. (Isn't it a bit too early to add slimes that don't interact with the combination system?)

3- they look like pink slimes, but in black

4- they interact with nothing besides making plorts when they touch stuff... for some reason.

5- it's a hassle to farm their plorts, and you need a ton for... often not that rewarding stuff.

They could've made a lot of cool stuff, like making them look like ninjas, or be the only slime that can combine with itself to form Largos or even Gordos, they could've even made it so their Largos become some kind of Tarr variation, so they kinda stay in line with the visuals of the Tarrs, and ranching them becomes challenging... but no.

If everyone loves them, i'm glad they do, I just can't find anything positive about the way these were implemented.

Slimeology: the diamond slime is by far the rarest slime in the range, not only because the population is low, but because they rarely even come out. They are the cousins of gold slimes, they share a trait - both running when they see a rancher, but, the diamond slime is even faster than the gold slime, and will spin around in all directions to make sure a rancher isn't nearby, why though? Maybe because they only want to show their strange, glimmering diamond slimy self to other slimes, speaking about strange things, they love looking at strange diamonds, and ranchers recommended to shoot a strange diamond at them if you happen to have one when you find a diamond slime, this will keep them busy so you can snatch a diamond plort or two.

Rancher risks: The diamond slimes have the same risk as other rare slimes, leading ranchers into the slime sea as they attempt to chase the diamond slime.

Plortonomics: due to diamond plorts being SOOO expensive, millionaires love to have it on display, but other than that, they are usually turned into expensive shining structures, random doors for no reason, or the most expensive products, one being this spray that makes anything sparkle, which ultimately makes it 5x the value, but it's obviously made for the rich as the price is thousands of dollars.

anyone else find it unreasonably hard to hit shadow slimes?

i feel like for gold slimes and lucky slimes i at least am able to hit them, but for shadow slimes, i'll fill an entire tank with pogofruits just to shoot at them in hopes of getting a bunch of plorts only to miss every single shot. it also feels like so many shots that look like they should hit just don't hit. theres no way my aim is just that bad, right? any tips on how to hit shadow slimes?

I feel like the presence of certain slimes needs to be reassessed

I like the new slimes. I really do. But the addition of so many slimes is causing a problem.

All it takes for Tarrs to form is three slimes and some food. Cotton, tabby, and pink slimes are found everywhere. The more slimes you add to an area, the faster things devolve into Tarr outbreaks. Because there are so many different types of slimes in areas now, there’s only a few seconds before Tarrs start showing up. It’s really quite frustrating to be littering the areas with hydro turrets and still having to fight off a ton by hand.

I really wish they would stick with slimes that make sense in each area plus maybe pink slimes. Having cottons and tabbies all over makes them feel like they are in the way and don’t belong. They can be found right outside the conservatory, so why do I need to be running into them in the labyrinth? I don’t want to turn off Tarrs because they can be fun, but when they are constant, getting through a space feels like a chore, especially in the labyrinth.

Also, what’s up with the increased yolky population? I went from having three to having eight in a few days.

so disappointed that it took me so long to play this game. i was "meh" with it until i finally unlocked the new area and met the twinkle slime

i so far have 15 or so hours on it and its a hell of an experience. at first it was giving me some motion sickness since i wasnt used to the fov and movement speed but after some adjustments that cleared up quick and i got the hang of the premise. its a very simple game but the aesthetics and music and upgrades and letters are just so fun! its like stardew valley in a way but i honestly heavily prefer this due to how fast paced it can be. it doesnt ever force you to hurry up but it allows you to speed through and go at your pace.

i love feeding the slimes and seeing their little faces. makes me real happy for some reason. i guess i was so tired of FPS games and modern titles, i've been in a serious rut gaming wise for a couple years now since covid. ive strictly been playing minecraft and league maybe a couple times a week but i just can't stop playing this game, it's that compelling. im planning on 100%'ing this game and then moving onto the second one maybe after new years. after just being turned off from gaming and just being generally downcast staring at family guy on my free time this really has been quite satisfying

especially the twinkle slime. i was like oh wow he looks cool and then he just explodes and takes me back home lmao. that blew my mind for some reason probably because i was glad i wasnt gonna have to walk all the way back but thats just so cool. ive only unlocked 1 area and farming honey slimes now so there's definitely probably cooler slimes i've yet to find. great stuff :>

Thoughts about the Tarr.

In Slime Rancher 1, they were described as "Those awful, ravenous rainbows," which makes sense - they're a mix of too many slimes, leading to their hunger overwhelming everything else, as their traits mix together into a mess of black sludge and rainbow trails of light.

However, we've learned something about the Far, Far Range: the Prismacore, some kind of alien meteor that's been infecting parts of the world with a creeping rainbow hue.

Is it possible that the Prismacore may have caused the Tarr, all that time ago, when it first crashed?

Update on Anatoli: He disappeared. I looked everywhere, but for naught. Later on, i decided to get another hunter largo, as the ranch did not feel the same without a pet. Bringing him home, i discovered Anatoli is just a very sneaky little bitch. For distinction, i have given 'Toli a fancy bowtie.
