Fun little headcanon of mine

The moon is actually a slime that grew so large it jumped into space and ended up trapped in the orbit of the planet, when liquids are in space they turn spherical making the slime round and then freezing over within the vacuum of space, with rocks and asteroids etc causing all of its craters

I personally LOVE Gigi! I love how fleshed out her backstory and character is, she's a lovable nerd who I wanna hair scruffle :3

I have the feeling she's tied to Hobson or Thora in some way. Thora mentioned she and Hobson were going to have a child, and this could be it, since she says she was born on the range. She also seems to be infected by the prism energy, is she OK? :0

Missing Largos!

My largos are gone. I booted up the game and returned to the conservatory after long exploration of the Rainbow Strand and my Rock Anglers and HoneyBuns are just gone! Not note. No evidence of foul play. Plenty of food still in the feeders, food even in the coral! They're just gone like they were never there!

Any help or explanation would be very much appreciated!

[Spoilers] This is way disproportionate.

I spent forever hunting down shadow slimes, zoning in and out to force respawns, missing a lot because I'm using a controller on the Deck and don't have the fast reflexes of a mouse, excruciatingly extracting one shadow plort at a time. The receptacle I'm trying to unlock is eating so many I'm expecting some door to unlock or something.

Nope. It unlocks a wall decoration. Turns out it's the new item capsule.

Monomi Park I love you guys but that is way, way, WAY too much effort for such a tiny reward. I'm not even going to bother with the rest.

To their credit it looks like the shadow behaviour might have been patched because the last dozen plorts I needed were easier than when I first started on the weekend. They didn't all immediately scatter when I hit one of them today, whereas on the weekend I'd only get one plort from a whole pack of them. But it's still a lot of work.

I'm a little confused about why people consider meat to be a "harder" food to grow

I played SR1 years ago and just recently started playing SR2. I usually make my Largo combinations based on vibes (logical/cute) and don't really try and maximize plort production.

I do, however, like to read about what combos others make and why. I often see people saying they put a meat eater with a veggie or fruit eater so they don't have to depend on meat.

But I'm finding that the chicken coops make a TON of chickens. I have 3 coops feeding 5 corrals, and I just decided to reduce it to 2 coops because there are just too many damn chickens. Plus, the chickens breed in the corrals a bit too.

Am I missing something here? It feels like meat is just as easy as crops.

My partner says in SR1 the chickens bred way more slowly and that's probably why people still prefer not to farm them, but I don't really remember.

In Slime Rancher 2, I like the feeling of nightfall, very relaxing

The developers know what purpose players come to their game for. In this version, all the surrounding scenery, including the sky, is designed to make the player's feeling more comfortable. It has a very unique beauty.

I found and played slime rancher since it just released the first version and what impressed me on this journey was the relaxation and cuteness of the Slimes (except Tarr and Wild Slimes).

Vinyl record!

Bought my first ever vinyl a couple of months ago because I need to have everything slime rancher related but I didn't have a record player(I was fine with listening to the soundtrack on Spotify I just wanted to OWN it) me and my boyfriend did Christmas last night and he got me a record player! Knowing full well I only have the slime rancher vinyls haha! So so so happy I can use them now

I know I'm not the only one, but I just *had* to give my two cents on the shadow slimes. They're cute, and I love their visual effects, *but* I really, REALLY hate the sheer number of plorts you need. And of course, as a result, I hate the sheer number of shadow slimes you have to barrage with plorts or food.

I enjoy the gimmicks. Get a plort in a unique, vastly different fashion. I wish I could succ up the slimes themselves, but if they wish to remain in the murky confines of the labyrinth, they can stay. However, needing dozens of hundreds of shadow plorts, without offering additional storage slots, or even adding the ability to share the same resources among two different slots, makes this a menial task that requires far more free time than I'm allotted.
If you could successfully farm them, I wouldn't mind. if they didn't disappear, I wouldn't mind. Unfortunately, I have to somehow corner them (possible 75% of the time) *and* shoot materials at them, ***and*** have enough space for both the materials and the plorts. Not to mention the sheer number of new materials they added this patch >!(Magma combs, aqua glass, tin flowers, unstable plorts, prisma plorts, royal jelly, dream bubble, ***AND*** shadow plorts?!?!?!?!?!)!<, making it a tedious chore.
Lastly, the rewards are horrible. Decoration only suits some of us. Some ranchers prefer the natural feel of Rainbow Island. These monoliths are just as hidden as Treasure Pods 85% of the time, and require literally hundreds of times more effort. I hope they experiment with more unique methods of creating plorts, but I do wish they'd playtest it too.

TLDR: I hate farming shadow plorts and you should too

hope we get more recuring slimes with grey labyrinth continuation

while the new additions are amazing i think the old guys would fit great as well. rad slimes would compliment the more challanging aspect of location. twinkle slime and echo would look amazing and fit atmosfere suprisingly well. mosaic slimes are basically made for this place with their rainbow colors. quantum slimes would fit the more chaotic and funky aspect of area. and special styles fit the grey labyrinth style 1-1. It would be also nice to see oca-oca and silver parsnip too as currently we have pretty few veggies compare to fruits and chens

What would you guys think about a weather forecast system?

Basically, it would mean you could check what weather will happen where a few days in advance. At the moment, it’s really hard to get much benefit out of weather, as if you need something like drift crystals or storm glass, you’ve just sorta gotta wait until that weather appears. At the very least, a weather forecast would allow you to see when those resources are next available.
