If you didn't know, there are decorations in the world that you can pick up and take with you

There's a new-ish area in each zone with decorations you can pick up. To pick them up, open Gadget Mode, point at them, and use the Pick Up button.


Ember Valley's is by against the lava area, Starlight Strand's is on an island to the north of the main teleporter, and Powderfall Bluff's is an island on the opposite side of the map as the main teleporter.

Does anyone know how to place the new gadgets? I cannot for the life of me figure out what button to push to be allowed to actually place stuff.

EDIT: Nevermind. The new mode doesn't work with controllers - You have to use your keyboard and press "G" to bring it up.

I've gotten a prompt to bring the tool menu up, the gadget placement menu they've just overhauled, but then the game just tells me "Select one of your new gadgets!" and... I can't. I can hover over them, and see that I do indeed have three chairs, but none of the buttons actually lets me place it.

Help? I just wanna put my chair down :(((

How to properly free-range slimes? (SR1)

Just curious, I never really considered free-ranging slimes but I'm wondering if there's a legitimate way to do it that doesn't result in them all jumping into the sea or something like that. Just looking for any advice and information anyone has to offer. Happy ranching 🫰

Revisiting SR1 after all the updates it gor or going straight for SR2

Hey all,

I have played SR1 way back when it was during the last months of EA. I've put in around 40 hours back then and remember having alot of fun.

Fast forward a few years and now I see SR2 being in development. I dont mind games being unfinished as Its fun to see them grow althought now I'm wondering and looking for suggestions.

Is it worth revisiting SR1 to experience the finished product after all the updates it got or should I go straight for SR2 having prior experience with the series already ?

Differences between Slime Rancher 1 and 2?

Are there any fundamental or mechanical differences between these two games? I've only played about 80 minutes of the second game and it feels the exact same, which was pretty disappointing. It kinda just feels like a reskin.

Aside from new slimes, gadgets, maps, and lore, is there anything that actually makes the sequel stand out from the first?

Trying to creatively map my layout for my current sr1 ranch

I pulled the map off google but I made the little icons myself whilst looking at the slimepedia in-game for reference. It's really, really, *really*, tedious. I only got like 5 slimes in before my hands started cramping up. They're also kind of accidentally pixel art because the resolution is really low lol.
