Theory on how Slimes reproduce

Solving slime reproduction is tricky. They could reproduce via mitosis (cus' they are very similar to bacteria, even being able to "share" DNA with each other)
but i think i have a better theory.

So, plorts are concentrated DNA of the slime..
They are kinda like spores. My theory is that, when plorts are burried they start absorbing minerals to have the resources to make all of the ingridients of a slime's body needs, And that's what we call a Jelly-Stone. That, if left alone, will turn into a slime eventually.
And that's why slimes emerged from the ground, they just fully develloped and are emerging for the first time.

And that'd make Phosfor slimes very analogous to dayflys, emerging for only one night, reproducing and then dying.

Help

I got stuck at a very specific place in powderfall. I can't move, the jetpack doesn't work and I don't want to emergency exit since I've got 4 sun sap. I also can't build because for some reason the gane thanks I'm airborne. Anybody know a way out??

Should i keep my quantum slimes?

So i recently just got to the ancient ruins and i stole 23 quantum slimes without reading the description, and that was when i regretted all my life choices cause i fed them and put them in a corral and saw them just run out of it. I decided to read the description of it and realized i was an idiot for taking 23 OF THEM when i've never even held more than 6000 newbucks. I've kept two for now and have food in their corral, but should i keep them or just go to the ruins instead to collect their plorts?
