Can you beat this game blind?

Hello, everyone!

Me and my friends just recently played terraria. We actually have played this before for a few hours and we really enjoyed it, especially when we're discovering new equipment, areas, and enemies. That time, we discovered a bug that lets us duplicate items, and that made us bored rather quickly. It was probably two years ago.

However, it is always in my mind to try it again and actually do progress in the game.

I've been playing Minecraft for almost a decade now, and while I don't think Minecraft is complicated, I don't think I will be able to beat it or do some things in it without looking stuff online.

So I wonder, can I (we) beat this game without looking for playthroughs, guide, or browsing the wiki?

We've been playing for a few days now, and because of a random yt short that appeared on my feed, it made me realize that Npc's are quite important? Our guide had died in the first few nights, but since I accidentally found out that he was needed to 'progress' (which I'm still not sure is true), I decided to do a quick search on how to respawn him. Looking back at it, I think I'll be able to figure that stuff out by just playing the game, however it just scared me that we already messed up, lol.

Here's what we've discovered so far, not sure if true, but it may give you guys an idea of where we are in the game;

-There seems to be events that happen randomly, or if not, we still don't know what triggers it (blood moon, goblin raid(?), slime falling from the sky)

-However, bloodmoon (and I'm assuming other events too) can be manually triggered using certain items.

-We've also discovered that the eyeball boss can only be summoned during bloodmoon, the bee boss can only be summoned inside the hive structure, and the skull boss can be triggered by the npc outside the dungeon during the night.

-I found a saddle mount somewhere, not sure if from mob drop or chest loot. But it's the only mount we've found so far. (it's the blue slime one)

-We've encountered what I believe is called the wall of flesh, but we died because we're undergeared, and never seen it again, yet.

-Chest and door keys. This is bugging me the most. So far we've only found the gold keys for gold chest. But we still have no idea where to find the other key type. The same thing with the purple keys (for chests) for the structures found in the deepest part of the world.

-We've been relying on the guide for the crafting recipes. But there are still some holes especially when it comes to the crafting stations.

-We've found the tied goblin, and 'protected' him buy enclosing him inside a dirt box, lol. We bought the tinkerer's thing as well.

Sorry for the long post, but I just want to share our experience in this game because we can only experience 'first time' once, right? 😁

I know I might get spoiled by people here just for trying to help, but I don't mind it that much. Just keep 'em as vague as possible, please :>
