I have decided on getting a Z13 Gen2 with 7840 and am wondering, whether it will support my 3k100hz external Monitor. It says 8k30 is supported, so 3k100 should work, surely, right?

W520 Keyboard Not Fitting
Hey, I had replaced the keyboard and noticed when I was putting it back that it wasn't lining up with the bezels at the bottom, I moved the wiring near the heatsink a little bit and it lined up a little bit better, but it's still visible. Any advice? Thanks.

T480 trackpad out of place
I bought a used t480 off Amazon a while back. Today the trackpad decided to crap out. It sticks out from one side and only functions for left clicks as the right click does not even press down! How do I fix this?

Replacing my “modern” thinkpads with an X1 Extreme?
My uses are all over the place so stick with me.
T490: couch resident and media consumer. It’s light and has a decent screen so it just kinda hangs out around the house
P53: desktop replacement, light gaming. Only machine that can boot windows which comes in handy a lot.
T470: almost exclusively coding and WFH. Honestly I don’t know why this has become my work horse… it’s the only dual core and has the worst screen out of the whole list. Also the machine I travel with. Again, I don’t know why. I think it’s the keyboard.
The X1 extreme has caught my eye cause I think I can fill all those roles with 1 machine (with the help of a T430 that’s about to be modded to f*ck). It’s light like the T490 and actually has the exact same gpu/cpu as the P53. Are there any downsides to this switch up? Honestly pretty tired of working between 3 machines.

Silicon Keyboard Cover
Is it safe to use silicone keyboard cover on my T495?
I know that dust is the #1 enemy of your digital friends and you should avoid them being dusty but I also read that covers can block the air flow through the keyboard.

Second 16GB ram stick not working on x270, am I the unluckiest guy, or is the market full of fake hardware, or is there something I don't understand?
I got a x270 (i5 7th gen) for a good price with 8gb, my goal was to upgrade it to 16gb.
And so far I couldn't even get a 16gb ram stick that could even work..

Regretting a purchase of T14
I I`ve been wanting a faster laptop for a while, i have had a Dell 5480 with 6300u, SSD and 8GB ram for several years, even yesterday purchased another 8GB module (which should have been the start lol).
My usage case is slight browsing, occasional Plex server to TV, some small Excel tables. The added ram certainly helped, but still the dual-core creates hickups. I pretty much never move the laptop and its fed by usb-c 4k monitor, I even dont open the lid more than turning the laptop off or on. I actually started to consider newer laptop, because HD 520 with 6300u certainly feels much slower than it was with dual fullhd monitors.
A week ago I pulled the trigger and purchased fully loaded Thinkpad T14 gen 1 with AMD in mint condition, even upgraded ram to 32gb (who in their right mind in Lenovo decided that 16gb single channel is a way to go?!)
I paid like 500 bucks for this.

After first experience I was really impressed how fast everything was, and now I just cannot overcome the thought, that I leaped too far and should have still bought more heavily used T480s with 8th series Intel cpu instead.
I had a similar work laptop a while back and I did not see any slowdowns with 8th series either. I get that this Ryzen cpu also has better integrated graphics, but what is the point of BETTER integrated graphics anyway (you still need to turn every setting down to mud, meaning you could play maybe a newer titles than comparing to UHD 620). As i only do light browsing with it and have dedicated gaming machine.
Maybe its just me and I`m picky, but I don`t see much of an appeal playing games on a 4k monitor at 720p res at low settings.

Im not sure where I´m going with this, just a rant maybe, the amount I paid for this is in large scale not relevant for me, rather the principle, that I don`t like a feeling if i`m not fully utilizing something i have.
I could imagine that for example 8250u could still be very ok CPU for 5 more years. And if I really needed something faster by then, I could pick up maybe a used 12th series Intel for 200 bucks by then.

Or just continue with 6th series, as small hickups here and there are probably not a topic for most people...

I think I just bought a brand new X1 Carbon Gen 7 from Amazon for $350
I currently have a Macbook M1 Pro which is great, but I'm way more productive on a windows machine for coding and doing actual work. I decided to buy a older X1 Carbon and have both, also because I love thinkpads.

After scouring the web and getting close to buying a Refurbished one from Amazon, I found one on the Lenovo Store on Amazon and it appears to be...brand new? Nothing on the description page indicates that it is used or refurbished, which is strange considering how old it is. It is also showing as currently unavailable because I'm assuming I bought the only one they had listed.

T480 type c broken.
I bought a t480 for 150€ with one of the type c ports being broken. The one that isnt used for docking.
The specs of the laptop are:
I5 8350u
2x8gb ddr4
256gb m.2
36wh of real life battery capacity
1080p Touchscreen,
Fingerprint, face recognition.
I wanted to firstly know if i got a good deal (EU).
And also is the type c a doable fix and a fix that is worth it considering the impressive io and the cheap price of type c docks and even lenovo docks.
Also on a seperate note i tried to run some games on it and found that fortnite kept crashing eventhough Performance was more than acceptible and it also told me to upgrade gpu drivers which i couldn't find new ones for the igup.

My i5 Yoga 12 does not come with a stylus or even a slot for it, instead there seems to be a plastic placeholder that mimics the stylus placeholder, is there a way to add the stylus slot to it? I've seen other Yogas with said feature.

Sorry English isn't my first language.
Context: i've recently bought a used t460 for about 50€. It was listed as parts only (no ram no hard drive) and i've replaced the motherboard for about 50€. I've added an 240gb ssd and 16gb of ram. Overall i got myself a fully functionnal t460 for about 140€.
I would be happy to keep it, despote the horrible 1360x765 display.
I also look at the t480, which would be a great deal, i would have to pay arround 300€ for a refurbished t480 on backmarket.
That way i would keep the upgreadability of thinkpad since i don't like the new versions that much.
My question is should i sell my t460 to have a more future proof t480 ?
