Bad Battery?

Lenovo is having an 80% off Thinkpad spare parts sale (lots of T460/T470 parts)
Mods - please forgive or remove if not allowed.
Just picked up quite a few T470 parts for my TP25 (spare charging port, internal SATA dongle, LCD motherboard flex cable, and screen bezel, etc. - all the parts I've ever had go bad long term on a laptop before) for a pretty decent price ($30 or so... a fraction of what they normally charge). It apparently is running until April:

New-to-me X1 Carbon Gen 7
I picked up this refurbished X1 Carbon Gen 7 with i5-8365U 16GB 256G SSD 14" for \~$380CAD all in.
It was going to be for my daughter to replace her Chromebook which was having some issues. I managed to fix it so this one may go to my father to replace his old low-end Dell.
I have a newer X13 for myself, but this one's fingerprint reader and camera works for Windows Hello. So I might just keep this one for myself. Plus the 16:9 ratio on this is better for media consumption.
I'll test the battery life a bit to see if it'll suit my use.

T14s or P14s Gen4 AMD?
I recently placed an order for a T14s Gen4 AMD. Here are the specs:
Processor AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 7840U Processor (3.30 GHz up to 5.10 GHz)
Operating System Windows 11 Pro 64
Memory 16 GB LPDDR5X-6400MHz (Soldered)
Solid State Drive 512 GB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 Performance TLC Opal
Display 14" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100%sRGB, 400 nits, 60Hz, Low Power
Graphic Card Integrated Graphics
Camera 5MP RGB+IR with Microphone
Battery 4 Cell Li-Polymer 57Wh
Today I went back on Lenovo's website and found this P14s Gen4 AMD with these specs:
Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 7840U Processor (3.30 GHz up to 5.10 GHz)
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64
Graphic Card: Integrated Graphics
Memory: 32 GB LPDDR5X-6400MHz (Soldered)
Storage: 1 TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 Performance TLC Opal
Display: 14" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100%sRGB, 400 nits, 60Hz, Low Power
Camera: 5MP RGB+IR with Dual Microphone and Privacy Shutter
Battery: 4 Cell Li-Polymer 52.5 Wh
At this point the T14s has not shipped and I can still cancel the order. These are coming out to almost identical in price (P14s only $44 more). What would you do? The bigger battery in the T14S is the appeal to me but doubling ram and the SSD is the obvious big plus.

Is this T470 good ?
Looking for a laptop to use for development with Linux thinking of running either Ubuntu or debian.
Here's the specs -
i7 6600u
20gb ram
256gb ssd (not super important can upgrade for cheap)
Will not be using this for anything other than development. Already have a gaming laptop so not looking for performance really. The price is also pretty good at 240 aud comes eith a few accessories as well.
Haven't bought it yet just wondering if this will be a good idea to buy.

ThinkPad P51 - buy Xeon or i7?
It's time for me to buy a ThinkPad P51 because it's solid and has the keyboard I want. I won't be using graphics-heavy apps, but I would like to run Windows 11 (and I know that I have to jump through a few hoops to install it).
Question: for the sake of stability and future updates, should I choose a Xeon or Intel i7 machine? In the early days of W11, there were posts indicating that W11 was unstable on Xeon machines, but I'd be grateful for any insights into the current state of things.

IDK if this is the right subreddit to ask this, but I'm looking to replace my 1st gen i7 desktop with a thinkcentre machine. Specifically the M83, not the SFF, the big tower with a core i5. Where can I find them?

Is the t480 still viable for linux?
I've been wanting a laptop to experiment with Linux and thinkpads are kind of a staple at this point.
I found a used t480 on eBay for around $200. It would fit my needs perfectly. I just don't know if the t480 is what I should be getting or if there are better options.
Budget \~$200
Uses:
light coding (Odin project, vs code)
YouTube and Spotify
light gaming (FTL)
I was thinking 8gb-16gb RAM, 256gb-512gb SSD and a quad core intel would be perfect. That's why I chose the t480.
This is just to experience Linux in a more full way than a VM without having to completely overhaul my windows PC.

Successful Panel Swap on Thinkpad T14s Gen 2 AMD 5850u From 1080 Privacy screen to 4k
As the title states I have successfully swapped my panel to 4k. The panel is glossy sourced from Aliexpress Part no - 5D11C95781 and cable from Ebay Part no- 5C11C12514. Their are other panels that people say could potential work with this machine such Part no's - 5D10V82379, 5D10V82380, however based finding of another redditor henricson those panel DON'T work.
Their are two ways of verifying if this panel would work for you.
First method - Find another device that has been sold with 4k display and same motherboard as yours, which could help you figure out if your machine configuration(i.e. motherboard) was ever made to work 4k display, since this display requires 40pin connector and cable listed above.
Second method - FAIR WARNING THIS METHOD IS NOT GURRANTIED TO WORK AS I ONLY HAVE ONE OF THESE MACHINES.
Lenovo parts website \-> Detect My Device -> Drivers and Software(On the left selection box) -> Select drivers(Under Manual Update) -> Click Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and Server-AI Accelerators (2) -> ReadMe Under ( ThinkPad Monitor File for Windows 11 (Version 21H2 or later), 10 (Version 20H2 or later) - ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 (Type 21A0, 21A1), T14 Gen 2 (Type 20XK, 20XL), T14s Gen 2 (Type 20XF, 20XG), X13 Gen 2 (Type 20XH, 20XJ) ) -> It will open this Text File(this link could break if Lenovo updates driver) with details of compatible displays.
Steps for removal of the Display
Disable the battery in bios, open and disconnect the battery connector, this is optional but if u can leave the laptop alone for half hour(don't know if this helps but don't want to get electrocuted lol), easier to remove if you separate the display from the the body.
Links for Plastic parts just incase you break some of then and want to use new ones as the beauty cover for display is glued on.

Move data to new laptop?
Who better to ask than the clever and knowledgeable freaks who change ThinkPads like other people change their underwear: are there any programs that simplify the application and data transfer to a new laptop in the fashion of a smartphone data copy? Thanks!
