Thinkpad Recommendations for School?
I'm off to college in less than 2 weeks and need a laptop. I'm accustomed to using my desktop for everything but now it's time I expand into the world of portability.
A few limitations to note first, I will be purchasing used so age is not an issue for me, but performance is. I need it to last for the next 4 years, battery life of 3+ hours would be nice but I'm not opposed to using a powerbank or charging if outlets are available, and I have a budget of $500 (though keeping the cost as low as possible is preferred). After brief research, the T14's seem pretty widely regarded and I do like the X1's, but I'm unsure of the generation/configuration to get, and which gen should be the oldest to consider.
I have computer literacy so I'm not opposed to repairing/upgrading myself if necessary, but Thinkpads tend to be pretty robust in terms of reliability anyway. I don't plan on using it to game much but having performance at disposal would be nice
