I didn’t listen anyone, and I bought Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7..
It takes start from the start of March, I suddenly wanted to try out laptop, to have an own machine that I can bring anywhere I want. After that I wanted to buy it, but of course, I didn’t have any funds. I started saving money. While I was saving money, I thought about my approximate budget and written a post in this subreddit about what laptop would be the best for my purposes. Most of people recommended me T480, T480s, T14 G1/2, T14s and etc. But first of all, my budget didn’t allow me to buy any of T14 and T14s gens. So I needed something easier to use, and at the same time not really expensive. After searching on my regional marketplace with used items. I found Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7. It was something paranormal for me, I loved its specs and price, it was amazing for my purposes. I didn’t need some shitbox that can only run TTY, but at the same time not supercomputer from NASA. It’s the golden middle. After I finally bought it and got it by mail (Today), I was shocked it is really small and lightweight. It is really nice. And I installed a distribution I needed, made setup in BIOS, and now I have a laptop that I’m really going to use probably daily, even assuming I have PC. Thank you all people who gave me advices and reccomendations. Maybe later I will make another post about my experience with Thinkpad, thank YOU, yes you for reading this. Good luck in your life, see ya!

I really love the idea of owning thinkpad instead of a mac. The only thing stopping me is the sound quality.

I believe the Thinkpad T14 Gen 7 is a worthy successor to the T480.

Thinkpad God X270
ThinkPad X270 owners who got theirs brand new seriously hit the jackpot.
I bought mine 2 years ago, and this thing refuses to die. No joke — I’ve basically never switched it off since the day I got it. Sleep mode, travel, work, random drops into a backpack… it just keeps going like some indestructible little machine.
The durability on this thing is unreal. The keyboard still feels amazing, thermals are stable, battery setup is legendary, and it handles daily tasks without complaining. Modern laptops look flashy, but the X270 feels like it was engineered for survival.
It’s honestly one of the few laptops that gives you confidence it’ll still be usable 5–10 years later. Lenovo really built a tank with this one.
Anyone else still daily driving an X270 in 2026?
