Bought a T480 to replace my E15 Gen4
Ive always been a sucker for Thinkpads.
2 years ago i replaced my T580, which i donated to my girlfriend, with a spec wise maxed out E15 Gen4. The laptop was great hardware wise but the keyboard felt so cheap which kind of ruined the Thinkpad experience for me.
After seeing everyone brag about their T480 i got intrigued after seeing one available near me for €200 and decided to pull the trigger.

Originally it came with a 250 Nits touch display which i immediately replaced with a 400 nits 1080P IPS panel.
It makes this laptop feel very complete to me.

I expected the downgrade from 15.6 inch to 14 inch make it of a lesser experience but for me it doesn't feel like that at all. The increase in portability is a very nice addition i haven't noticed the difference in screen size.
Overall i'm very happy with the laptop. On paper its a downgrade but in reality it feels like very much of an upgrade. i would advise anyone to upgrade the display to the one i've linked in this article.
If anyone has any upgrade advice for me feel free to post about it.

Should I get a thinkpad?
I need a new laptop and I’ve heard good things. I’m a university student so I need something durable I can take everywhere with me. I don’t do anything super demanding but I use Canva a lot for presentations. I’d also like to be able to play some games like Stardew Valley or Fields of Mistria on it.
Would a thinkpad be good for all that? If so, what model would you recommend? Thanks!
