Dock for T14s (AMD) with 2 x 4k@60Hz
After some research, I think there is no single dock supporting two screens at 4k with 60 Hz (without using DisplayLink, of course) for my ThinkPad T14s (AMD). I would be fine with two USB-C connections to the dock, of course.
Could anybody please prove me wrong or suggest an alternative? :D

Macbook Air M1 vs ThinkPad X1 Carbon / X1 Nano / T14s AMD?
Hey guys, I got a new job and I get to pick a laptop - anything I like (within reason!). I work in sales so my job mostly consists of 90% emails - nothing seriously intensive apart from some occasional Tableau desktop / Photoshop usage.
I'm a huge ThinkPad fan and have owned X230 / T430s / X260 personally but what do you think for work? The specs of the M1 Macs are very tempting, as is the battery life, lack of fans and the low weight. I do love the ThinkPads though, especially the keyboards - but I'm not sure the M1 Mac might be better for everyday non-power-user work?
Would love your thoughts

Voiding a warranty on a new Lenovo product?
Do you void the Lenovo warranty on your new laptop if you open it up to perform upgrades? Does anyone know definitely since I would hate to throw away my warranty to add additional RAM or an additional HDD? How would Lenovo even know if the bottom case was removed since they don't use warranty stickers anymore?

T440s, after taking the bottom cover off countless times, it still fits on just fine.
Overall, for what I paid, I think it was worth the upgrade. The T14 AMD, while it has its flaws compared to the T440s (mostly build quality related), its worlds faster and has a far superior display and keyboard. Despite being a little flimsier than my T440s, its still a ThinkPad, and by that I mean its still sturdier and feels better than 80% of laptops I've used.
I'd recommend it.

X1 Nano quick take
I received my X1 Nano yesterday, and wanted to post my quick impressions if it would help others.
I'm coming from a X230. I had an X201 prior to that. I was looking to replace the X230, which I have been pretty happy with, and move on to something a bit faster/newer and with more RAM.
I use my laptop as my secondary machine, and I travel quite a bit, when it then becomes my primary machine. I do tend to load up on some hungry apps: AutoCAD, Photoshop, and the office suite all regularly. Plus the usual web, Teams, Zoom, etc. with many apps open. Traveling regularly, I learned a long time ago that I value portability over screen size, and the X2xx family was good for me. I could always connect to a second screen when needed, and often connect to a secondary 4k display.
I ordered a new X1 standard over the summer, and immediately didn't like it. It was just a bit too big. I sent it back and decided to hold out for the X1 Nano since I realized that I definitely didn't want to go with anything larger than the X230.
I was a bit nervous, since I didn't like the change from the X230 to the X1 standard. I have to say that I was immediately thrilled with the X1 Nano. The screen felt every bit as large, or larger, but the laptop was no bigger and noticeably thinner and lighter. It also looks very sleek. So far, I'm happy with the keyboard, pointer, and touchpad, and I tend to be picky about these things. It feels to be higher quality overall with better fit and finish compared to the X230, and that's saying something. I can also say that the sound is much better than the X230. The coating on the case feels like an upgrade over the X230. The X230 tended to show fingerprints and look grungy all the time. The X1 Nano case seems improved. Time will tell.
The IR sensor works great, and the laptop wakes and unlocks the moment you sit in front of it. I am impressed by this.
As for ports, I was/am nervous about the lack. I am a broadcast engineer and need to connect to a variety of equipment in the field utilizing a variety of ports. I ordered the (expensive) Lenovo dock that has every port you can imagine, and will probably use this when I have the laptop in a fixed location for a long time. I also ordered a cheaper tiny dock with just the necessities like DP/HDMI , Ethernet and USB for travel. When I think about it, it's not all that often I need a port, and when I do, it's not that big of a deal to plug in the little dongle. For me, it's worth the tradeoff. I like the little USB-C power supply it comes with. Much more compact than the charger for my X230, and it has a nice long, flexible cord with a nifty little cord keeper at the end.

Keyboard ThinkPad TrackPoint II - questions for owners
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about buying this keyboard but there are some doubts which bother me.
Because of that, I've got question to owners of this keyboard (and owners version I):
1) Trackpoint pointer movement - is there any differences between thinkpad laptops and wireless keyboard? I mean latency especially. On laptop trackpoint is a part of builtin keyboard, so no problem, but what if we have the wireless keyboard? Usually this should not be a problem but I prefer to ask.
2) I don't know what this "android/windows" switch mode does - can it be "hacked" to just switching seamlessly between two normal PCs (on same bluetooth/radio connection) or it's not possible?
Why I'm asking: I've got a PC and non thinkpad notebook on the desk and I want to have seamless switching between these two devices. Bluetooth is much more secure but I'm not sure if it support two bluetooth connections (via this switch)
3) Durability - are there any problems with this keyboard after long term usage (one or more years)? I think this question is especially for version I owners.
4) If you think that there is something important that I should know about this keyboard before my purchase just write it!
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,

Thoughts on T14 AMD

https://preview.redd.it/eg74j1sdhj961.jpg?width=1202&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af8742d77f30b0eefce23408895546dba25a1494
So I got a T14 AMD, decided to write a "little" review here just because I'm bored and I like rambling on about my tech.

Here are the specs of my machine -
Ryzen 5 4650U
AMD Vega 6
16GB 2666MHz DDR4 (8GB soldered, 8GB in slot)
1TB Samsung 960 Evo Plus
Backlit keyboard
Fingerprint reader
Innolux N140HCG-GQ2 (Originally had 250nit AUO LCD, which is now in my T440s)
720p webcam with no IR, and no WWAN antennas

Basically I'll list the advantages I see over my T440s, and the disadvantages.
So to start, the T14 AMD is significantly faster than my T440s. My T440s is quite slow by todays standards, with its dual core i5 and DDR3. But this T14 just flies. Power is one of the reasons its taken me so long to upgrade, all of the ThinkPads after the T440s just didn't show me as much of a performance increase as I'd like. But this one really does. The CPU and GPU are just insane compared to the T440s, so if anyone is worried about power this machine will suit you nicely.
The T14 AMD has a nicer keyboard than my T440s imo, the T440s keyboard has more travel but it requires more actuation force and it makes my fingers hurt after extended periods of typing.
The T14 has a much nicer screen (400nits LP Innolux 1080p) than my T440s (250nits AUO 1080p). Not only is it brighter, but the colors are far superior.
I really like the rubbery finish on the T14. My T440s is smooth and feels almost glossy on the lid, and the palmrest on the T440s is cheap feeling plastic, where on the T14 is rubberized and feels much more premium to me.
Speakers, camera, fingerprint reader, ports, etc, all seem superior to the T440s. And I especially like the ThinkShutter.
The T14 seems easier to work on to me, opening it is a hassle but once you are in everything is laid out right there for you. On the T440s its kind of weirdly assembled, especially with the battery cable not really having a clear path, you just cram it under the battery and hope it doesn't cause problems. A
Touchpad on the T14 is SO much better. Not only is the touchpad itself superior (no more stupid long click), but it has actual trackpoint buttons, which is a huge plus to me because I use the trackpoint.
Far superior display replacement process on the T14. The T440s requires you to remove the sticker from the bezel, and I never could seem to get it on correctly again, even after buying a new bezel. but on the T14 you can remove the bezel and sticker as one piece.
Alright, now lets move to the downsides.
The T14 bends, it makes weird noises, it's definitely not re-assuring in the build quality. The T440s on the other hand, is a brick, and I can't flex the chassis no matter how hard I try. However the lid on the T440s is magnesium and I prefer the plastic lid on the T14 because the magnesium lid on my T440s is cracked on two stress points and now it bends back an unsettling amount when opening it.
Stupid hinge, on my T440s I can open it with one hand. On my T14 I can't even get a grip on the lid without it sliding back on my desk.
Feet on the T14 are useless. They aren't nearly as grippy as they are on the T440s.
Keyboard backlight is dimmer than on the T440s, and looks bluer. Kind of like a worn out backlight on an older MacBook Pro.
It runs hot. Really hot. And the vent is on the right side, so if I'm using a mouse, it blows directly onto my hand. It is quiet though compared to other laptops I've used (probably why it runs so hot).
Battery life leaves something to be desired. I get around 3 hours on a charge, on my T440s I can easily get 5 or 6 hours (I've replaced the batteries).
Bottom cover is hard to get off, and after removing it twice (to install new SSD and then RAM), it doesn't fit on like it did from the factory. I didn't break any clips, I was careful, but its looser than it should be, and there are small gaps on the back of the machine around the hinge, and in the palmrest corner. On my
