To the level 10 monk that stayed with me and my boy from 70-80
My buddy and I were just enjoying a leveling session when we got into a lobby with a level 10 twink carry brewmaster monk. This man stayed by our side from 70-80 and got it done in less than 2 hours.

The M+ Gold “Reward” is Insulting
I’m sure this has been posted before, but so has every other post on the front page.
You get around 50 gold for finishing a M+. That’s maybe 1/3 of a repair? If you don’t get any gear this feels pretty bad.

Been away 10 years. Posted a week ago, people said give it ago. So I reinstalled. Well....
I just spent 3 days leveling in fucking dragon isle thinking it was war within. I'm only level 72 and I've been playing for like 30 hours. wtf is wrong with me? I would literally still be sitting here like a fucking idiot if I hadn't stopped to look for delves because I was thinking 'jesus, 1600xp isn't shit -- there must be a faster way'. After not being able to locate them on my map, I googled only to realize I was in the completely wrong zone. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

Why WoW repels new players
Getting my wife into WoW helped me understand why we don't have new players, and it's really just two major issues:
First, the game does not prepare you at all for the end game. There's no indication about what class or spec would be easy to play (more on this later), you level too quickly to really understand your abilities or the plot, and the UI is so insufficent that the game should tell you to go download community made addons. What's sad is we had so much fun leveling together, and I realized how much I didn't appreciate the joy of questing around with a friend.
Second, and this is the bigger issue because it's totally avoidable, you're not allowed to be new in WoW. She wanted to play bear tank because she though druids were cool and likes bears, good enough for an RPG right? Cue the endless screeching in timewalking dungeons/low keys because she's not getting aggro, or pulls too slowly, or doesn't know the route for this dungeon she's been in twice. Here's some good ones:
1. Why do new players play tank when they don't know the routes, I don't understand it.
2. They should reroll hunter, that's the class for beginners.
3. Tank sucks leaves +2 key that I'm carrying in 630 gear because they died once
4. You should be doing X DPS at Y ilvl is doing terrible DPS for their higher ilvl
Of course if she wants to play DPS, she's going from a spec that has a moderate amount of buttons she had some time to learn during leveling to 30 buttons she's never seen, and then she can either get carried through dungeons while the group pulls at MDI speeds in undertuned content, or get kicked for not doing enough DPS in M+ because she hasn't been playing Mage for 20 years. Then we get to sit in queues for another 30 minutes.
In the end, the group content which should be social and fun is the most stresful, toxic part of this game, while things like Delves, which lots of players thing of as another choreghast, actually have value in teaching her the game. The only benifit of this excercise is that when I see a new player I go out of my way to help them, I always finish their key even if we are dying to trash, and I try to do a few low keys and give people a shot in my keys.
I'm definitely feeling frustrated trying to share this game that I love with the person that I love, and it's just a bunch of waiting around for small windows of too much stress.
EDIT
All I have to say after reading these posts is that unsuprisingly, some of you are completely out of touch. Imagine if you had played Vanilla and the game only let you pick one easy DPS class and locked you out of group content until you hit 60 for the first time. Somehow WoW has become a job with promotions and mandetory training instead of a fun fantasy game to some of you all.

The issue isn't that M+ rewards no gold - it's that nothing rewards gold.
We get a weekly post about how insulting the 50g in M+ caches is. End-game content isn't really supposed to generate gold, but fair enough.
The real issue though is that Blizzard has actively removed virtually every source of gold generation in the game (no, crafting does not generate gold) at this point. Skyriding quests are gone, doing every weekly cache might pay for that week's round of repairs, legacy raid gold generation is non-existent. A single character doing all available "world content" for the week might generate 10k gold, or roughly 1/20th of a WoW token.
Nominally, the goal is to reduce inflation, but I can't actually wrap my head around why you'd want to reduce inflation in a video game. The deflationary economy we're in essentially penalizes any actual gold-creating activities and enshrines players who god rich in the WoD-Legion table era as permanently wealthy. The only way to actually make money is to sell services to legacy-wealth players, and this feels like a sharp departure from previous expansions where they allowed new money to pour in via various systems.
Has Blizzard talked about their economic goals at all? Creating a deflationary video game economy is a bizarre choice to say the least, and now that crafting/gathering are dry for the season, we're starting to see just how little money there is going around.
Edit: for this misunderstanding crafting not "generating" gold, this is not looking for tips on how to make money. Crafting exchanges money from one player to another and therefore does not create gold.

I was running timewalking dungeons this morning and during a shattered halls run, we had a tank who only spoke Portuguese.
I guess instead of specing into fire, frost or arcane, our mage spec'd into racism and was promptly vote kicked after several uninterrupted minutes of spewing vitriol.
Rare moment witnessing players not only be decent but also correctly utilize the VTK feature.
Tl;dr: Awesome and kind people still play this game and as a +15yr veteran of the game that brings me a not insignificant amount of joy.

I hate to hate Awakening the Machine and Codex of Chromie...
Cuz I see so much wasted potential there, they could've been really fun and farmable, really great additions to the game (even evergreen content with chromie going through different timelines and what ifs), but it's just... that. It's just a mid, boring, chore I force myself to do daily/weekly cuz I want to like it, but there's not a thing there for me to like, gotta be honest... Don't throw this idea in the garbage and forget about it, blizz, there are so many bad implemented things in the game that, reworked, could be so much fun as a SIDE, OPTIONAL activity...

The vulpera music has been removed as the main theme of Orgrimmar
In 8.3, a dev decided to make the Vol'dun theme of Vulpera the default Orgrimmar theme. They recently put in the old school Orgrimmar and Cataclysm Orgrimmar themes back in.
A welcomed change for my part.
