My 70 year old retired dad wants to start playing WoW
He has never been a gamer but is looking for something to do in retirement and he saw a tv commercial (YES REALLY) for WoW. He has a surprisingly good laptop with 12 GB of VRAM for Intel Iris. Think that should run the game well considering he just bought the laptop 6 months ago.
So my questions are this:
Should my dad start with Classic or Retail?
Are there any guilds out there specifically geared towards the older gamers?

I’m having a blast!
I am completely new to the world of Azeroth. Been playing for a week now and I am having an absolute blast playing. My highest class is a DK at level 30 and tonight I’m rolling a Blood Elf Paladin.
I’ve always played paladin archetypes in games. Guardian in Swtor, paladin in ff14, guardian in gw2. So I think I’ll enjoy paladin in wow but it’s been such a breath of fresh air. I’m playing slowly and walking/running everywhere (I have dragonflight unlocked but it takes away the immersion). The starting zones are gorgeous, the combat is fun, the skill animations aren’t over the top or lackluster. The story is not even that bad but again.. loving it so far.

One day they shall fix that spaghetti code. One day. Our horde and alliance brethren will be able to whisper each other.. since we already do everything else together as if factions do not exist.
