"I remember you". Radiant Echoes Easter Egg
Recently recovered my 20 year old druid from my lost account. He was made about 2 weeks after original WoW was released in 2004. Played him through vanilla and into TBC.
Jump to 2024, I did radiant echoes event on my newer characters and thought nothing of it. Logged on my druid - he has original gear from tbc still equipped. Pop some heirlooms on and off we go to Dustwallow Marsh for the Onyxia event.
The quest giver is named as "Forgotten Hero" or something. I talk to him, take the quest and notice there is a new dialogue option when talking to him.
My druid could say:
"I remember you."
I was a bit stunned. Started thinking, who is this guy again? Then I remembered.
This is Marshal Reginald Windsor, a champion of Stormwind who uncovered the conspiracy by Lady Katrana Prestor aka Onyxia.
In 2005 I did an attunement questline to be able to take the first raid boss ever in the game, Onyxia, and this was the guy who slow walked through stormwind and confronted her in the throne room and revealing her true form, and died fighting her there.
To my druid he answered something I cant remember, and his name changed to Remembered Hero (Marshal).
I don't know specifically if the dialogue option was due to the attunement quest or something else but I will say this was a memorable easter egg that brought me back to when I was 13 years old again.

In remix, if you use the The warband Map to Everywhere All At Once, and then use the Kalmidor Scouting map it discovers GM Island as a location.

My compliments on the free play weekend
Logged in for the first time since my account lapsed in January 2020.
Saw all my toons on a single list, even those that I had forgotten even existed.
All of them had a "Free Gear Update" so I did that.
Then I hopped on my main, who was now level 50. And decided to unlock the warband bank to mess around with it.
On my way to Gadgetzan I pass through Duskwallow as the Radiant Echos event was going. So I played around for a few and was suddenly level 53.
Fast forward 4 hours. I complete all 3 zones, ding 70, and unlock all 3 battle pets and the mount. Complete the travel journal in the process and unlock another mount from Trader's Tender.
Now the itch is back. So I'm debating a return.
