Tried to change my resolution on xbox but it makes it permanent zoomed on anything over 640 by 480 and before you say try changing the TV resolution my TV has built in 4k so I cant

Xbox One controller malfunctioning
Almost everytime I try connecting my Xbox One controller to my XB1S, it doesn't connect and constantly blinks. Sometimes it will blink rapidly as if I pressed the sync button (when I didn't), and a few seconds as it does it vibrates twice and shuts off. Sync button also does nothing. It even won't connect when I plug it directly into the console via USB cable.
Whenever it does connect, only the home button and the triggers work and I still cannot leave the home menu, sometimes the highlight boxes on the screen will start shaking rapidly.
Two days ago, I applied fresh new Duracell batteries to the controller and it was working perfectly fine and I thought it was all said and done. Today, it's doing the same stuff again. Then I tried ANOTHER new set of Duracell batteries, and it was working for about a few minutes then it stopped mid session.
For the time my controller was connected, I checked for controller updates and it stated that it was up to date, so that's a no-go.
I've tried everything, and I do mean everything that the internet has recommended so far. Turning off the controller (by holding the home button down) and taking out the batteries, didn't work. Turning off the console by holding down the power button leaving unplugged for set amounts of time, didn't work. Tried both at the same time, didn't work. Tried many different USB cables, didn't work.
Tell me, guys. Is there something I haven't tried yet, or has my controller gotten too old (had it for about 6 years) ornit'a juat broken and it's time to get a replacement? I ordered a wired controller online that's arriving tomorrow so that won't be a problem, but I'm still wondering if I'll be able to use this as a 2 player controller or back up.

Hi. Need some things to play at night and that are relaxing and not too intensive (so nothing with too many quick time events As Dusk Falls almost got me caught). And preferably games on gamepass or free games
Basically the title. Also, bonus points if it's similar to Coffee Talk. When I got my £20 monthly pocket money back in January, I had a look at VA11-HA11A (I think that's how it's written ) but it's apparently no longer available. As I've said in the title, preferably free games or games on gamepass, unless it's something I absolutely must play (I get £20 every 15th but £12.99 of that goes to gamepass). Although for tonight, since my phone locks in half an hour and I need to put my xbox into offline mode, I guess I'm gonna be playing Citizen Sleeper and trying to max complete it. Just got the flotilla to finish. And maybe I'll start another Coffee Talk or Coffee Talk Ep 2 playthrough

Using xbox controller on pc, without usb cable
Hi all. I've been using xbox one controllers with my pc for a few years now, but always without batteries and with a usb cable. I was looking to make the switch to wireless. As far as I'm aware, all I need are rechargeable batteries and a xbox usb adapter. Will this work okay? Thanks in advance!

Game idea
So since I was probably 9 years old Ive always wanted a saints row style (hadn’t played gta yet) star wars game. You create your own jedi, sith, bounty hunter, etc. the fallen order games are close but not quite open world. More open stage i feel like. I really wish someone would make one. And if there already is one and im just blind. Do inform me

unable to connect to dorm wifi
I brought my Xbox as a way to destress in Uni but am unable to connect it to the wifi because it says that the 'security protocol won't work' and that 'this console supports WPA2/WPA3 (personal), WPA/WPA2 (personal), WPA2 (personal) and WEP network settings', but the school wifi is using something else. This makes sense because to access the university wifi, you are redirected to a separate page where you sign in with your university credentials, but the Xbox (and other gaming consoles) are not equipped for that.
IT at the school is unsure of what to do but advised me to purchase an ethernet and hotspot the wifi that way. I tried doing that from my Mac by internet sharing, but an error message comes up that says the 'Internet connection cannot be shared because it is protected by 802.1X.' I have also tried connecting the ethernet from the xbox to the port in the wall as a last attempt but obviously that is not working either.
Is there any way at all to get around this?

Wired headset recommendation?

Looking for a friend Gamertag Jsuggs
Has anyone seen this gamertag or know them? My buddies and I used to game with them between 2008-2012 and one day they just vanished.
We feared the worst and hoped for the best. Maybe they got married, had kids, no time for gaming. Who knows. We just want to know they are ok.
They never had a mic and even though we offered countless times to buy them one they never responded to even one of our messages. They were our quiet friend and we just want to know they are ok, wherever they may be.

Whats a good discussion website to use?
I was just wondering if anybody knew of a good forum or discussion website I could use for specifically xbox players. I find all the answers to my questions and topics on the steam forum but I don’t use steam or pc so I was just wondering whats a good website like the steam forum but for xbox players, would mean a lot if anybody knew of one. I hope this post doesn’t break a rule somehow but if it does I will remove it but would like to know what subreddit to use for something like this, thanks a lot!
