I’ve been rapping and recording myself for the last two decades. I started making music on two cassette players facing each other, while I sat in the middle and rapped facing whichever cassette player was recording the other would be playing and instrumental.
Since the invention of DAWS, I’ve taught myself the basic techniques required to create pretty fire demo’s in my opinion but I’ve never learned anything past the initial stages of recording. Therefore I can’t mix for shit, I can’t master for shit, I can’t produce or any of that.
As far as rapping/singing, I believe I’m an undeniable talent. I have a ton of music videos out (on private currently, if you’d like to check em out let me know and I’ll send you a link or make them public again lol) but the feeling rap use to give me has gotten dull. Everything new sounds exactly like everything else and I’m exhausted about it. I’ve created a small name for myself in the town I grew up in and surrounding areas, (I’m from Weymouth, Nova Scotia so that doesn’t mean much lmao) but i find myself really wanting to make something new. I feel boxed in. All the relationships and resources I have, know me for being a traditional rapper so when I try to tell them about how I’m feeling they don’t really get it.
I grew up rapping, and rap was heavy in my household growing up. As a teenager, I found myself listening to a lot of Melodic Death Metal, a lot of Indie & Folk and almost everything except for country. I always made songs in different genres but kept them to myself, afraid the small fan base that took me so long to cultivate would be confused and not fucking with it at all. While living in Montreal, I decided to try and break away from the persona I created and make the music I’d been feeling in my soul since my teenage years. Now that I’m back, I don’t know what I should do. (Paris Texas, XXXtentacion, Tyler The Creator, early Childish Gambino, Sufjan Stevens, Beach Bunny and artists like that are the best currently known representation of what I wish to do).

Why are they not releasing more SoundCloud songs on streaming platforms?
Like it’s been literally like six years please don’t try to excuse his team by saying that they need to clear samples or whatever. Mac Miller practically filled Faces with samples and his estate still managed to release the mixtape on Spotify even with a bonus song and they also rereleased two other mixtapes. Almost whole Lil Peeps SoundCloud discography is on streaming platforms and they are still adding songs. I can’t believe how lazy X’s estate is

No hate on any of the “new fans” or anybody who’s found out about X since he died, but I just thought about the fact that either right now, or some day within the next few years, he will probably have more fans who weren’t listening to him when he died, than people who were.
Being in high school in 2018 and thinking of how people perceived him then compared with how he’s looked at now is also kind of wild. I’d love to hear some more thoughts on this subject peace

Do you think XXXTENTACION was insecure about his physique?
On his no jumpers interview he does mention that he is insecure about his "skin pigment and face" so I know that he had something with that, but he seems pretty short too, but it seems like he didn't even acknowledge his small stature. He was way too confident when it came to fighting people or with his physical attributes, unlike most small framed guys who aren't. I say this because I am also skinny and small like him but never get that kind of confidence. Was he ever insecure about his shortness or skinny stature, or did he not even know that he was small?
