LPT Go clean your sink faucet aerator.
Yeah, that little screen on your faucet where all of your drinking/washing water comes out of? It screws off. If it's stuck, use a strap wrench. Remove it, disassemble it (usually 2 to 3 pieces), and soak it in vinegar. Use an old toothbrush to remove any leftover deposits. Thank me later.

YSK: There are a lot of browser extensions to circumvent paywalls and subscription-gated content.
Why YSK:
A lot of people don't seem to be aware of this yet, but like adblockers, I feel like it's an extension which would easily become almost essential to most people's browsing if they were aware of it.
Paywalled or subscription-gated content isn't difficult to circumvent and can sometimes be incredibly useful if somebody has cited a paywalled article in your online discussions or if you just stumble across something you want to read but can't because of a paywall.
It's also incredibly useful for accessing research papers if you don't have a university or professional login anymore.
BypassPaywall and Unpaywall are the two I use, but there are numerous others available with a quick google search.
I see so many people either dismissing sources because they're paywalled or asking for other sources that aren't, that I figured this would be a handy little piece of information for those of you who aren't aware that these extensions exist.
If you love your adblocker, you'll love these extensions too.

What should I do without hot water in the shower?
I just woke up, it's beyond freezing cold outside, I have to be at work soon, and now I just found out that the hot water heater isn't working, so the water is freezing cold! I can't take a shower in the freezing cold! What should I do?
In the past I would prefer using the call out sick routine. But sometimes that is just not a good solution. I also have taken cold showers before, but nothing that would be this cold. I don't think people that live in warmer climates understand just how cold a shower is in this situation. I've also tried just wearing a hat and putting deodorant on, but lots of times I'm not able to wear a hat at work.

YSK the only appropriate response to someone (who isn’t your spouse) saying that they don’t want to have kids is “okay.”
Why YSK: because it’s none of your business. Deciding whether or not you want to be a parent is a deeply personal, and for some people, a very difficult process. Some people may also be struggling with health issues that make having kids difficult or impossible. If someone tells you they don’t plan on having children, do not question them. They will elaborate if they want to and/or if they feel safe and comfortable enough to do so.
Inappropriate responses/what you should NOT say:
- “You’re still young, you’ll change your mind!”
- “I thought that too until I had kids.”
- (In response to “I would not be a good parent”) “Usually the people who think that make the best parents.”
- (In response to “I couldn’t give a child everything they would need to have a good life”) “You just make sacrifices and do what you have to do to make sure they have everything they need.”
- “But who’s going to take care of you when you’re old!?”
This might seem like common sense good manners to some, but experience shows that it needs to be reiterated. Unless the person you are talking to is the person you would be having theoretical children with, they do not owe you any further information or elaboration.
