YSK: Taking a short pause in speeches or presentations is a lot better than saying ‘um’ and ‘uh.’
Why YSK: It’s a hard habit to break, but it’s a skill you should really try to learn. I can’t count how many times I’ve been listening to someone speak and all I can focus on is the shear amount of times I hear them say “uh, uh, uh.”
Replacing that with a short pause sounds extremely better, trust me. That pause might seem like a long time when you’re in front of people, but I promise it’s not.
Edit: This is public speaking advice, not judging. I, nor anyone else, will send you to the shadow realm because you said “um” once while speaking. It’s okay to say it, just don’t use it between every sentence.

LPT To effectively set healthy boundaries, follow this template: When you , I felt . Please do/don’t . is important to me. (More in the post)
As a people pleaser, I’m often guilty of failing to set boundaries. This quickly turns me into a doormat and leads to me feeling overwhelmed, stressed, resentful and disconnected. I realized this while going through the Betwixt app, which someone in another sub recommended as a way to self-reflect through an interactive fantasy story.
What I also realized was that the reason I don’t set boundaries is that I’m afraid to appear too “needy” and I’m also too worried I’ll look selfish or mean. Sometimes I just don’t believe I have a right to ask for what I want.
I bet many of you can relate to this. So, here is a template that has helped me enormously to start setting healthy and compassionate boundaries with other people. Just fill in the blanks with your particular details:
When you \__________, I felt ______________.
Please do/don’t ___________.
_____________ is important to me.
For example:
When you continued sending work requests while I was on annual leave, I felt anxious and overwhelmed. Please don’t contact me during holidays or weekends. Having defined work and rest periods is important to me.
It’s important to note that this doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the response you want out of others. However, I try to remind myself that it’s my responsibility to communicate my boundaries clearly and compassionately, but it’s not my responsibility to make things okay for them.

LPT Does anyone feel like they are waiting for something to start their life ?
Why does it feel like I'm waiting for something like the right timing or something to start working on my life when the fact is I wasted 5 years of my life. I basically wasted my early 20s and now that I'm in my mid20s I still keep doing same thing but the environment has changed so much as I reflect deeply. The people I know now gotten married or in serious relationship, majority of them finished college and now working full time jobs that pays great. Working on their future and striving for success. Meanwhile, I still feel like I'm stuck in this middle of the ocean. Waiting and waiting like my mind just feel frozen. Seasons changes and new year arrives but I'm still living my life in this fixed mindset and when I realized so much things have changed. I feel behind in life. I don't understand what's holding me back from doing anything.

LPT: How to Master the Two Finger Whistle
Hello Everyone!
I didn’t know where to post this, so I figured I’d do it here! This is definitely a dying art and I figured I’d spread the knowledge to keep it alive! If anyone has ever wanted to learn how to do that piercing two finger whistle, here’s a step-by-step guide.
Let me know how it goes! And if anyone else can already do this, feel free to comment as well.
Step One: cover your lips over your teeth. You don’t want there to be a ton of overlap as it can interfere with the ability to create a sound.
Step Two: take your thumb and index finger on one of your hands and make an okay sign, make sure that these two fingers are touching.
Step Three: this is the most important part of the technique. Take your two fingers and have them up pointing slightly upwards. Stick your tongue out and place your fingers right below the top of your tongue. As you put your tongue back in your mouth, make sure that it folds backwards. It doesn’t have to be folded exactly in half but it must fold back and make sure that your folded back tongue is pressed up against itself. Also make sure that there is a hole for the air to come out when you blow, which produces the whistle.
Step Four: make sure that your lower jaw is slightly in front of your upper jaw and blow. Another tip is to make sure that your tongue is bunched up and is applying pressure to your fingers as you do it.
It takes some time to find the sweet spot so keep at it. I hope these instructions aren’t confusing, I tried to be as detailed as possible because I’ve seen other posts and videos on this subject that are way too general, especially regarding the third step.

How can I apply pain relief patches on my back by myself without twisting my arm?
I'm a bulky man, and my arms are too stiff to bend into the right angle to apply the patch on my back. Applying these patches on my neck, shoulders and waist are fairly easy, but the very center of my back is a tricky spot for me to reach. Not to mention, these soft patches can curl up easily and the medicated surfaces are super sticky to be restored into a flat patch. I left my current not-so-smart solution in the comment. Can anyone provide me a better solution?
The patch is about the size of an A6 paper.

YSK: Your job doesn't care about you
Why YSK: most people's main source of stress is work. Unless you're one of the rare few that genuinely loves their job, don't put in more than the bare minimum, for the sake of your own mental health. Your managers and supervisors are not your friends and will take advantage of your labor without hesitation. You're not a person to them, you're just another worker ant. They'll do anything they can to keep you submissive and obedient, and will try to make you feel like you're part of a "family" at your job. You're not. Your boss doesn't care if you have family or friends that you want to spend your time with, they think you working for them is more important and will pressure you into work under the guise that they are "blessing" you with hours and that you should be grateful to them for that. Use your time instead to do the things you love, as much as possible. You don't want to look back on your life when you're old and see nothing but work. That's not a life well-lived. So take time off when you need, and if you hate your job then consider looking into finding another one. Your job doesn't care about you.
