LPT: Skip the Coinstar fees - use Walmart self-checkout’s coin slot instead to pay with coins and get bills back as change.
If you shop at Walmart and have a bunch of coins lying around, don’t waste money on Coinstar’s ~12% fee. Instead, go to the self-checkout lane.
At most Walmart locations, you can flip up the coin chute lid on the self-checkout machine and dump coins straight in. The machine will count your coins and apply them to your total like cash.
Bonus: If you insert more coins than needed for your purchase, the machine gives you the remaining balance in bills, not more coins.
This makes it a sneaky-efficient way to convert coins to paper money for free while buying things you already need.

LPT: In important conversations, lead with intent and STFU — Seek To First Understand.
Leading with intent means being clear about why you’re having the conversation, and letting the other person know. Are you trying to understand? Solve a problem? Clear the air? Naming your purpose sets the tone.
Then, STFU—Seek To First Understand. Ask questions. Listen properly. Reflect back what you hear before jumping in with your own view.
When people know your intent and feel heard, conversations are calmer, clearer, and way more productive.
Also, sometimes it’s as simple as Shutting The Fuck Up and letting the other person talk.

LPT: If you’ve had a streaming service for a while, go in and start the cancellation process to see if they offer a deal
Streaming services will usually offer you deals if you’ve been subscribed for an extended period of time without cancelling and you go in to cancel the service. For instance HBO Max offered me 6 months for 50% off when I last did it, so even if you’re not planning on actually cancelling, it’s worth doing just to see if they offer a deal to keep you subscribed.

Employees involved in interviewing will often discuss job candidates in digital spaces that are accessible to the entire company and then forget to delete these conversations or make them private before the job candidate starts. YSK: If you have Xfinity/Comcast internet, you should redo your internet plan because of changes they made.

Why YSK?
For years now, since Ajit Pai was the chairman of the FCC, Comcast put a 1.2TB data cap on all their plans in most of the states. There were some parts of the U.S. where they didn't do this, but they were very few and far between as far as I could tell. As streaming and online gaming became more prevalent as well as data usage heavy, the data cap became a hindrance and people left Comcast.
So, with the updates to their plans in the past month they removed the data caps, BUT only if you change your internet plan. If you don't do anything, you'll still be on an internet plan with a data cap. If you were lucky, your area gave you the optional $50 charge to have unlimited data.
So, check your internet plans to see if you can switch to unlimited data internet plans. I went from 1GB/s download speed $100, with the added $50 to have unlimited data for a total of $150/month, to $95/month for truly unlimited data at 1.2gb/s speeds. So, I'm basically saving $55 for a better internet plan.
If you don't sign up for a new plan, they'll let you stay on that plan, paying more money, for a service that is inferior in my opinion, just because they are getting more money and you are not aware of the changes they made. Most people don't pay attention to the news about internet or tech all too much, there's a lot going on in the world to keep track of, so I'm not surprised if people missed out on this info.
I think comcast wanted to keep it quiet if possible. So they can keep capping people and charging more. That may just be my paranoia though, lol.

YSK: Human Resources (HR) serves the interest of company
Why ysk: they may look friendly and act friendly but if your goals/actions conflict either the company’s interests (even in cases such as reporting harassment by a manager, whistleblowing unethical practices) HR acts to protect the company not the individual employee.
Remember, HR is not your therapist or personal advocate. And definitely not your friend.

Ysk when recording federal law enforcement vehicles, it’s more thorough to collect the vehicle’s the VIN number from the bottom of the driver’s side windshield
Why YSK: federal agents have been recorded swapping license plates before operations. When exercising your rights by recording the police, if you find yourself near a vehicle, it’s more effective to collect the VIN number. This can be used to gather thorough information about the vehicle on the internet at a later time.
VIN numbers are most easily found on the driver’s side of the windshield, positioned at the bottom, and are relatively small. Search “how to find vin number” for easy-to-follow advice.

LPT: When someone shares good news with you, always acknowledge their feelings first before asking questions or sharing your own experiences.
We often jump straight into asking questions, sharing related stories, or giving advice when someone tells us good news. But doing this can unintentionally minimize their excitement or happiness.
Instead, take a moment first to acknowledge their feelings by saying something like, “Wow, that’s amazing! You must be so proud!” or “Congratulations! I can see how much this means to you.”
This small shift not only validates their emotions but strengthens your relationship by showing genuine support and enthusiasm.
