YSK: In an unused (e.g. guest) bathroom, keep the shower, sink, and toilet drain U-pipes full of water to prevent sewer gas from entering your home.
Why YSK: This is especially important if your house is on a septic system. In my case, the smell in the unused guest bathroom became awful after the water in the shower drain evaporated.

I never understood that was the reason until I realized it happened only with some t-shirts (mainly older ones). Usually the washing machine can't reach those spots properly, so now I wash them manually and try not to leave them dirty for long.
Some t-shirts I had to throw them away because there was absolutely nothing I could do about the smell.

TIL laws restricting Chinese people to merchant visas made many Chinese restaurants in the U.S. These visas were only for fancy shops and the person had to run it for a year. Some groups used all their cash to open a nice restaurant and then switch who ran it each year so that they'd all get visas.

YSK: A large percentage of people in the entertainment industry are abusing steroids setting unrealistic unattainable body standards and the general public is completely unaware.
Why YSK: People who are really into lifting know all about this. Experienced natural lifters realize getting that shredded in a short span of time is not realistic whatsoever setting unattainable body standards and the fact they aren't honest about it is messed up.
It's not that these actors have money to afford these amazing trainers or that they got lucky with their genes, they're just normal people like me and you expect they straight up abuse steroids.
How do you think some of these actors get SHREDDED in a short span of time for extremely high paying roles.

LPT request - Words of wisdom I received when depressed: Somethings are better somewhat done than not at all.
Hearing this really turned a lightbulb on for me in some dark times, and I thought it’d be good knowledge to pass along.
When depression hits, it gets hard to do somethings, especially self care things.
•Examples:
-15 seconds of brushing your teeth is better than not at all.
-drinking a glass or two of water is better than not at all.
-wiping your face with a cleansing wipe is better than not at all.
-stepping outside and taking in a few deep breaths of fresh air is better than not at all.
(I don’t know if this belongs here, but it was a great life tip for me, so I apologize if it’s not allowed)

If you have a gut feeling, weird moment or simply not
trusting the car behind you, remember the rule of 4
You know like, after a weird date, that person you cut
off and he is raging behind you, at night after class,
after work going back home or simply not trusting
that car that as been behind you since you came
back from the shopping center.
It's a good thing to know the streets near your
house, driving around a few blocks to see where you
can do this rule of 4
You take 4 consecutive left turns or You take 4
consecutive right turns.
So in essence, you are doing a square and coming
back to the start point.
Ex: you are going back home, this car is on your tail
and something feels off. Before arriving home or you
continue pass your home. You proceed to take a left
turn then a left, another left and finally a left.
The probability of someone in a spur of the moment
doing 4 left turns with you is extremely low, either
they will fork off at a intersection, enter a driveway,
park in the street, make a u-turn or simply continue
straight.
This makes you go back so you can go home without
that car behind you. Helps you clear your mind of the
doubts, is that car really following me. Doesn't show
where you live.
A simple 4 left or 4 right turns, doesn't take more
than a few minutes.

YSK: Alcohol withdrawal is dangerous and potentially lethal
Why YSK: Whether you're a heavy drinker, you know someone who's a heavy drinker, or you're just on an especially hard bender, you should know that alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous and even lethal. I'm shocked by how many people are surprised by this, but it's useful to know considering how common alcohol abuse is.
EDIT: Since some people are concerned. I’m referring to acute alcohol withdrawal which tends to last about 3-7 days and peaks around 72 hours from your last drink. If you stopped cold turkey a week ago or last year or whatever, you’re not at risk of death from alcohol withdrawal.
Withdrawals are also progressive so if you’re a few days sober and not experiencing withdrawals you won’t just randomly seize up. You would start shaking, sweating, rapid pulse, long before you had a seizure.

Due to the shortage of employees, most employers are desperate for good help. That means you should be seeking pay raises, promotions, and increased benefits.
Unless you are completely satisfied with your job and your income, shop around. Chances are you will find someone desperate for help and willing to pay more than your current employer. If you like your job, shop around anyway, then politely ask your employer to match/beat those offers.
Look after yourself! This employment opportunity will not last forever!
