LPT Profiles on YouTube can be used to create different 'channels' of different interests you have.

If you're like me and got sick of YouTube offering stale recos, try creating some fresh google profiles. You'll want to try and limit yourself to specific interests on each profile.

Now, I have a profile channel that is mostly kitchen stuff, one that is for science stuff, one for music, one for politics, and so on.

And because the algorithm thinks that you are a person that is REALLY into that one subject you get all the great deep cut videos the algorithm usually buries.

LPT: Avoid Health care influencers that advertise products in their video/bio.

I often come across TikToks where they start with good tips for eg. your skin but the last thing they recommend that helped them alot is a product they actively advertise in their bio. Its more than likely that they dont even use the product or just read off of the script the company gave them. There are certified Doctors that have their own line of products that are backed by studies but 99% of the time its a bs creme for your skin or a new toothpaste that whitens your teeth in 1 business day.

YSK if you’ve been legitimately wronged by a company you can get your money back.

This is common knowledge to a lot of people but it’s something that I wish I had known about earlier than I did. If you have been wronged by a company and the company refuses to refund your money, or they will not respond to your calls, you can dispute the charge through your bank, if you made the purchase on a debit/credit card.

The bank will issue you a temporary credit and will investigate the charge to ensure that your claim is valid. If they determine it is, they will not take the credited money back and instead will contact the company or in some cases take them to court to get the money back.

It’s best to have all of your receipts, as well as dates and times that you’ve tried to contact them and what the representative told you. The more information the better. It’s worth trying if you feel like you’ve been swindled, even against large, well known companies. I have disputed 4 charges in the last 10 years with a 100% success rate. I’ve successfully disputed charges against PlayStation, and a third-party Verizon dealer. My father in law disputed a charge of $100 against a shady company that buys parking lots and allows certain time-slots free, hoping to catch people parking without paying. He received his money back as well.

Why YSK: You don’t have to sit back and let companies take your hard earned money. You should dispute the charge and make them think twice about indulging in shady business practices.

YSK that your reaction to pollen may not be caused by an allergy.

Why YSK: many people have a reaction to pollen which includes a stuffy nose, congestion, watery eyes, scratchy throat, etc. What may not be as commonly known is that you could be reacting to pollen as a irritant rather than as an allergen. If this is the case, antihistamines may not be effective in treating your symptoms. In fact, you may have a better response from a sinus rinse or a decongestant.

When your body reacts to an allergen, it releases histamines. This is what antihistamines are responding to. However, if you are not having an allergic response, taking an antihistamine may not do anything to improve your condition.

Of course, this is something you should discuss with you doctor to find out for sure. But if you are not getting relief from taking Claritin or Zyrtec, you may have a better response from doing a sinus rinse.

Also, if you are spending time outside where there are blooming trees and flowers, it might help to simply wear a mask to avoid breathing in the pollen.

YSK Some bathroom air freshener spray sticks to your clothes and can follow you all day

Why YSK: A lot of people use the bathroom and stand inside during and after spraying heavily scented air freshener spray into the air.

I just had breakfast with someone who loves to use the Fresh Linen scent at his home. He was covered in such a strong odor I could barely eat.

Make sure you spray it right before exiting the room and close the door.

edit since everyone is really focusing on the mention of fresh linen, I should have mentioned that I am specifically talking about the spray that you only ever see next to toilets. It's the one I see in 99% of workplace restrooms, my friends RV bathrooms, most of my male friends bathrooms.

LPT: How to deal with a Crying Kid.

Hello! This is gonna be my first post in the community so apologies if it's a little subpar.

But anyways, the LPT I'm sharing today is based on anecdotal experience with my SO a couple days ago. Her 3 Years old Cousin got mad because she wanted to swim on the Mall's Fountain and naturally, her request was politely (yet firmly) denied... I know right? Sometimes there's a good reason but others, yeah not quite the big deal.

However, the fun thing that left me dumbfounded was that, 15 Minutes into her Tantrum, my SO magically manifested a bottle of water from her purse (i never saw when she bought it or if she has been carrying it all this time), then gave it to her wailing cousin and by some random act of magic (or witchery as she likes to call it), the child stopped crying her lungs out, "snaps fingers" just like that, as if it was a command, the water didn't had any funny stuff either, it was just regular water!

So yeah, long story short this is the LPT:

If you ever have to deal with a Crying Kid, give them some water. The Majority of the time there's a reason for their crying, but sometimes, they just seem to go on and on for what seems to be an eternity and the reason for that is pretty simple, they just cannot snap out of it, just as if it were a trance (but a bit snottier).

Once the kid starts drinking water, they're basically "forced" to take a breather, the sensation of the water also makes them think about something else (however brief it may be), it may seem like a little thing, but trust me, sometimes that's all it takes to settle them.

And that's it! That's the story and my contribution to this fine community, it goes without saying, if your kid's crying also comes accompanied by pain or high fever, don't fool around and take them to a pediatrician, because water can only do so much haha.

Have a great week everyone and see you around.

My wife and I agreed to do this for our second child. It was so annoying for our first. Every hour someone was texting us for over a week; “how’s it going?”… “Any news?”… ”just checking in!?”

I’ve never wanted to punch so many people I love but never text us during ordinary times in the throat.

LPT: Utilize the "Courtesy Flush"

The courtesy flush is not a joke that people say to indicate the bathroom smells.

It is a legimate way to help prevent the smell of your bowel movement from stinking up the entire restroom.

If you're going in a public restroom, or someone else's restroom, after you drop the first "large one" and you plan on sitting a while, courtesy flush the toilet.

If you're having some stomach issues and won't be standing up for a while, courtesy flush the toilet between bursts.

It may not seem like much, but the longer your deliverable is sitting in the toilet, the more of it's smell will diffuse into the restroom.

So, do us all a favor and remember to courtesy flush.

Also, extra tip: don't be embarassed going #2 in the restroom. Do your business. Don't freeze up when someone walks in and try to not make a sound. It makes it uncomfortable for everyone. It's not shocking to hear a fart or some bumpy pushes when you're in a restroom. Just go for it.

But if you want to be polite, courtesy flush the toilet.

YSK: Not everyone that uses handicap placards/parking will APPEAR disabled to you.

Why YSK: It's offensive to assume someone without clear disability is just gaming the system or being an ahole.

I overheard some of my coworkers talking about a young woman in an ugly car, with tons of liberal bumper stickers, colored hair, and "the b!#$% had the audacity to park in a handicap spot and she wasn't even disabled" followed up with an "if I see that I will give them a piece of my mind!"

I immediately knew they were talking about my SO haha. So I chimed in, mentioned it's my SO, and that she is in fact disabled. More days than not she is fine, but they have a progressive movement disorder similar (but different) to ALS. At this moment it isn't very noticeable unless you've known them for a while. I didn't really mean to chastise them, as I knew they were mostly joking around, but the topic quickly changed.

Just because you can't identify the disability, you shouldn't judge or trash talk them.
