LPT To disable biometric data on your Iphone so police can’t get into it hold down the power and volume buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds
Police officers can hold your Iphone up to your face or use your thumb to unlock your phone. But if your pin code is on your phone, they are not allowed to access it without a warrant. To prevent them taking your phone from you and holding it up to your face to unlock it you can disable the biometrics data in seconds. You hold down the power and volume button for two seconds, which will bring up the screen asking you if you want to restart the phone. At that point, the biometric data will be turned off and only a Pin will open your phone.

LPT: If someone keeps misunderstanding you, stop rephrasing and start shortening.
When people misunderstand us, the instinct is to explain more. Add context. Clarify intentions. Say it again in a different way. Most of the time, that only creates more confusion.
I noticed this at work. The more I explained a decision, the more questions and misinterpretations followed. When I reduced it to one clear sentence, things moved forward.
Same with family conversations. Long explanations turned into arguments. Short, direct statements reduced tension.
More words often mean more room for assumptions. Fewer words force clarity.
Less explaining. More clarity.

Okay so this is pretty wild.
I contacted Adobe to cancel my unused After Effects subscription ($32/month) and try to avoid paying the $100 cancellation fee. After the guy tried to offer me some other alternatives, he agreed to cancel my subscription without a fee (this is a life hack by itself if you want to cancel a subscription).
Well as it turns out, Adobe has completely forgot (or bugged) to send me yearly reminders about subscription renewals. First he offered me 1 month refund. I asked for 6 months and he agreed. In the end I ended up with 12 months (he connected me to supervisor. I tried some more, but it seems like 12 months is their cap and you have to go through your bank if you want more refunded - which I will try).
Surely I can’t be the only one affected by the missing emails. And to be fair I would have cancelled long ago if I did recieve the emails. So hopefully this will help someone else - send this to someone who might be affected.
(Keep in mind, that I have not used After Effects in the last 12 months. Not sure if they can check that, or if it even affects anything.
I could definitely see this becoming a class-action lawsuit.

This site has been posted about a few times over the years, but I only just learned about it due to trying to look up my own information to see how easily a no contact family member could find me.
Why YSK: this site has a scary amount of information on everyone that I personally know and probably you, too!
It had my current address, my fiancees past address, a family members emails, old and current phone numbers, etc. I highly recommend filling out their removal form. It seems counterintuitive to give them information since you're trying to remove it, but they already have it!
I recommend searching for yourself on familytreenow.com and once you find your information, write down whatever phone number/address they have listed as your current or first one on their. Use that when you fill out the removal form. My results were taken down within minutes but it may take days. My fiancees required two removal requests, and I listed different addresses that they already had for both, now they are taken off.
I also recommend signing up for googles alerts to help you automatically remove search information about yourself!

Hairbrush Cleaning
After removing hair from my hairbrush I stretch a couple of rubber bands around the bristle end so they sit underneath any future accumulation of hair. This helps because you can pull on the bands to help remove the hair next time.

Confessional life hack (For Students and professionals)
When I was doing my degree, we often had to turn in online submissions, being Word, excel, etc. documents before the deadline closes.
If you're short of time, it's quite easy to corrupt the document, to prevent it from opening.
This means you "Meet" the deadline, and gives you a couple more days to work on it before they open it and email you saying "This file was corrupted" can you send it again.
I'm sure they knew, but impossible to prove if you were careful with the filenames and such.

LPT When you want something done and can’t follow up easily, ask for a “negative confirmation” instead of a positive one.
When you ask for confirmation only if something isn’t done, silence becomes a signal of completion.
This reduces follow-ups and works well for emails, approvals, and async communication.

YSK check price history before buying anything on Amazon, Aliexpress, or any other store, and don't fall for fake discounts.
Why YSK: I bought a Bluetooth speaker three weeks ago for $89, feeling good about the "limited time deal" badge. Checked the amazon item price history yesterday out of curiosity and found it was $65 for months before my purchase. They jacked up the price right before slapping that "deal" label on it.
This is such garbage. If you don't track amazon item price history yourself, you have no idea if you're actually saving money or getting played. Anyone else getting tired of these fake "discounts"?

LPT - After someone hosts you, send a next day message that names one specific moment you enjoyed. Not a generic thanks.
I used to send a simple, thanks for having me. It is polite, but it feels forgettable.
Now I send a next day message with one specific detail.
Example:
Thanks again for last night. I really enjoyed the part when we all sat in the kitchen and laughed about those old stories. That was a good night.
It takes 20 seconds. It makes people feel seen. And it makes it much more likely they will invite you again.
A specific thank you builds real connection fast.

LPT: Don’t trust your motivation level at night. Morning-you is a completely different person.
Late at night, everything feels doable. Starting a new routine, waking up early, making big plans. If something only sounds realistic at 11 PM, it probably needs to be made easier or scheduled differently. Design plans for tired, unmotivated you, not the optimistic version.

Prevent Shocks While Petting Your Dog or Cat
When it's dry out, petting your dog, cat or other pet may result in repeated static discharge. If they're laying down, an easy way to prevent this is simply to hold one of their feet with your non-petting hand! Specifically, make sure your skin is in contact with their skin directly, most accessible at their toe beans.
The reason this works is because static electricity is charge jumping from a body of one electrical potential to a body of another electrical potential. By touching their toe beans, you are now keeping your body at the same electrical potential as theirs. Therefore, there will be no arcing between you and thus no shocks.
