It isn't necessary the use of reddcoin electrum. With some simple commands in the Console it's easy to switch the chains, keeping the coins in the Core Wallet. I've made a tutorial here:

Also anyone who uses the bootstrap is on the right chain because the bootstrap contains the blocks from the right chain generated after the forks.
