Building a Stadium Seating Booking App with Jetpack Compose: Need Guidance and Inspiration

Hey there, fellow Redditors! I'm currently working on a project that's both exciting and a bit daunting for me. It's a stadium ticket/seat booking app using Jetpack Compose, and I could really use some advice.

Here's where I'm at: I've got a rough idea of the modules needed, but I'm struggling with how to logically integrate them and make the UI appealing. The most challenging part is designing the stadium map. Imagine an oval layout with 36 blocks arrayed around the perimeter, representing th...

Issues with DART SKD

The current Dart SDK version is 3.2.3.

Because food_delivery depends on cupertino_icons >=0.1.1 <1.0.1 which doesn't support null safety, version solving failed.

The lower bound of "sdk: '<2.0.0 or >=2.0.0-dev.28.0 <3.0.0'" must be 2.12.0 or higher to enable null safety....

Why is it so difficult to just have a separate state for when permission is permanently denied?

Using accompanist, why is it so ambiguous wether permission is being asked for the first time or is permanently denied? Why is there no clear differentiation in the cameraPermissionState.status?

val textToShow = if (cameraPermissionState.status.shouldShowRationale) {
// If the user has denied the permission but the rationale can be shown,

Question about publishing game on Google play

Legit or Virus, GitHub Repo Commits and Releases discrepancy

I found this GitHub repo: https://github.com/proxidize/proxidize-android
It's a nice and interesting app, in theory, but there is a big question mark here.

If you look at the releases, they have bug fixes, but when you look at the commits, only the README.md file was changed. I have opened an issue; I am really curious about the response.

Virus Total has 26 antiviruses that flagg...

My internal test application can't connect to my server

I`m trying to publish an app in Play Store and me and my friends had never done it before. Our Expo app is working perfectly locally, but when we publish it for internal testing, we can`t even login into the app. It just throws 404 error, and we can`t connect to the server. I tried to check gunicorn logs, but the client requests aren't even reaching the server. Is there some sort of config I have to do so the phone can connect to the internet?...

Exploring the Value of RevenueCat for Indie Developers: Beyond Basic SDK Functionality

As an indie developer, I am always looking for good methodologies and tools to help improve my product and app income.

In-app subscriptions are my main source of revenue. The web-based dashboards provided by the Apple Store and Google Play are sufficient for me to track how well my app's subscriptions are performing.

May I ask, what additional conveniences does RevenueCat offer to developers? I understand that a major selling point of RevenueCat in its early days was its simplicity and ease of...

AppDialer replacement - From frustration to coding to releasing SearchPad

I bet there are many more frustrated AppDialer users here. I've been using that for almost 10 years now. I remember it being a really expensive app back in the day with a few euros of price tag to it. I paid anyway, as it truly did change the Android experience for the better by allowing quick opening of any apps.

Recently first with Android 13 AppDialer stopped working and the developer released a new version to support Android 13, but with a price tag of \~20€ 🤨 I decided not to go for it. I ...

Best laptop for Android Development.

I'm looking for a new laptop to continue my development. I've been using a i3 3rd gen and i5 5th gen laptop both with 8GB for the last 4 years which is my entire app developing career. I'm tired of the freezing, buffering and not being able to use an emulator without my laptop reaching 6000 Kelvin.

So I'm looking for something that would be a little overkill for app development. Something fast enough to open Android Studio in seconds instead of minutes. Any brand is appreciated. Except Mac Boo...

In android AOSP, how is the Always On Display managed?

Hello.

I am trying to understand the Always On Display on my Pixel 7 Pro.

I have found that it mainly resides in SystemUI package.

However, I am having a hard time finding where things are handles - specifically the clock for the always on display, as well as the brightness adjustment (this may not reside in SystemUI after looking at logcats).

Every time I think I found something, I make changes to it in my Xposed module, and nothing changes on the phone. I keep getting turned around and...

Migrate to Kotlin for my app still in development

Hello,

I began creating an Android app a few months ago in Java.
But, I'm wondering if it's better to migrate to kotlin.
I see that Android Studio has full support for kotlin.

Do you think I should migrate the app? Is it difficult to migrate?

Thanks...

Play Console Account might be at Risk!!!

This might be long so hold tight!

I lost/forgot my Play Console-only credential saved in the Brave browser on my Android 10 device, and I can't recall my password. When I clicked "Forget Password," Google sent a verification code to my developer account email, and it did not display the recovery phone number. It was frustrating to have Google send the verification code to the email I was attempting to recover.

Following that, I created a new Gmail account with the same phone number I had used...

Investigating the Rise in Frozen Frames Since March 2022: A Call for Peer Insights

I am currently investigating an issue regarding the increase in frozen frames since March 9, 2022.

My average frozen frames have risen from 3% to 6%.

I have reviewed my code change history, but so far, no obvious errors have been found.

However, I've also noticed a similar trend among my peers, with everyone experiencing a rise in frozen frames.

How to integrate TCP server implemented in C socket to Android?

Hello, I have a TCP server implemented in C socket and I want to integrate it into Android app, what I what to achieve is that this TCP server is listening port say 12345, and it can accept connections from clients and then forward the data to Android app. This is rather simple on Linux, but is this available on Android and how? Dealing with SSL certificates on older APIs

On lower API levels (API 23 and 24) I'm getting `Trust anchor for certification path not found`, I found out that this happens because older versions of Android don't recognize certificate due to being outdated.

Adding the Let's Encrypt root certificate to `OkHttpClient` fixes it, however, what I don't know is what to do when the certificate updates.

It's my understanding that root certs update every 90 days, so after that time they become invalid and I have to update my app again, but I'm...

About Admob UMP, what are the rules/laws of what's allowed on the app based on user consent status ?

I saw 2 places that gave me the impression that developers shouldn't give a different experience to users who have granted consent vs those that haven't:

1. "EU GDPR says you can't deny access to your app if user doesn't consent." (here)
2. "You might think that we could just block users from using the app if they turn off ads. Funny enough, that would instead break the App Store...
