NFC Access Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro
Hello everyone,
Firstly, I'm an Apple user, so apologies if the answer is obvious.
We are developing an Android app and need NFC access for wristbands. I have purchased the Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro as a test device, which is marketed as "supports NFC tag".
I can't find an option in the settings to switch on the NFC function and our app doesn't have access to it either.
There is only the item "Transfer items via NFC" in the settings, but I can't activate anything here.

External xls file download
Begginer question here. I created an app that needs a lot of data to work with. The data is downloaded in xls format in the splash screen while the app loads, from my own website and then gets stored in the apps database. The xls is not stored on the device after the transfer to the dB is done so it gets destroyed.
Will this be a problem for app approval on play store? And if yes how can I work with this in a better way? Firebase?...

News app for Android Developers
I have always wanted to build a open source project that is useful for me and other people. At the same time, I wanted to learn new things that have been happening in Android Development Ecosystem. So, instead of using third party apis to build a sample app, I chose to build this news app that helps me learn things from various sources.

Pixel Game with Kotlin (Jetpack Compose)
Hey Guys,
Sorry to be awkward, but I'm new to programming and just wanted a heads up before I get too invested in Kotlin to realise it can't be done and need to switch to another language/method. I'm currently studying Jetpack Compose in Android Studio.

How do you protect your developer name from impersonation?
Hi guys. It bugs my mind and was wondering how you guys protect your developer name from impersonation on google play.
I mean if you are just starting as an indie developer and find a creative name that no one uses its all finde. But what if you wont get famous or noticed and a company or startup files a trademark protection with your name or a simular one that could fall under the impersonation guidlines.

How do you detect if the device is rooted? Is the Safety attestation API enough? What approach do apps that handle sensitive information, ( banking, medical, etc) use?

How do you handle different Screensizes? Same XML layout for all Display Sizes or Custom Rules for different DPIs/Resolutions?
I'm sure many of you know the situation of creating a nice XML UI on a 1080p phone, only for elements to scale completely wrong at 4K, resulting in things like tiny text.
What's your approach to this? I know it's possible to define values for individual screen size ranges. Someone will also probably recommend compose here....

Is it me or Android Studio is buggy as hell (Iguana, but no matter the version) ?
\- WiFi pairing takes ages only to fail 90% of the time, and after that it is forever stuck on "There was an unexpected error during Wi-Fi pairing initialization".
\- Devices emulator freezes/crashes every few minutes. 90% of time, a full Android Studio reboot is needed.
Even with an up-to-date PC and optic fiber, debugging so far has been an excruciatingly painful experience.
Am I the only one noticing the disastrous debugging experience ?

Workflow advice for freelancers
I have some apps for iOS that are currently on the App Store and I’m looking to create android versions of them that I can put on the Google play store. I’ve run into a few issues trying to do this and it mainly seems to come down to small errors that I’m having trouble with when it comes to deploying apps with the proper metadata, and all the correct formalities of the Google play console upload process.
