Brick fest… an absolute joke
If you’re interested in attending brick fest, don’t. Super disappointing experience that I have been excited in attending for about a month now. I attended the one in San Antonio, Texas and it was held in the Freeman Colesium. Typically, the freeman expo hall has awesome events, but this was a huge let down. I’m an adult lego fan, and in my opinion it seemed like a cash grab. I would have much rather spent my $60 (2 general admissions tickets) and $15 (parking fee) on a $75 lego set. General admission and VIP were damn near the same, they had a tiny little VIP section. Then, the entire expo hall had like maybe 5 mocs with 3 creators near their mocs. They had several tables for people to build things but they felt like grimes nasty parts and were very limited. You couldn’t take anything home either. They had a coloring station with lego pens/markers with half sheets of lego figurines (Harry Potter, Batman, etc) and that was a joke bc you couldn’t even keep a pen. It was just to color. They had like 4 large lego sculptures which looked decent but the venue was like so dim I could barely see. It’s like they were trying to make it to where people would leave. Then there’s this section where people/kids could play with legos but they were climbing into it like a play pen (it looked gross). They also had a “shopping area” which was either retail price or overpriced (no deals). It was just sad and embarrassing. We stayed for maybe 30 minutes and dipped, I felt so bad for spending money on the event and having higher expectations. I do not recommend attending this event, not just because of the lack things to do/get but also the people weren’t even that nice either.
