Built between 1873-1914 for King Carol I, Peles Castle has 170 rooms, each in a different style. This is the Honor Hall - 4000 pieces of carved walnut wood, zero nails used. It was the first castle in Europe with central heating and electricity. The king even had a secret passage behind the library.

Książ Castle, Silesia, Poland. The bones of the modern structure were laid in 1288, when Duke Bolko I "the Strict" of Świdnica and Jawor decided to make this hill his seat. That castle was rendered ruinous by a siege in 1482, then rebuilt in the 16th century by the von Hochberg family.
