Resistance fighter Lauritz Sand, dubbed the "hardest tortured person in Norway", convalescing in hospital in May 1945 [831 x 592]. Arrested in 1941, the 60+ year old Sand spent years as a Nazi prisoner. His execution was finally scheduled for May 17, 1945. The Nazis surrendered on the 8th.
