Game I bought LEGIT says it's missing multiple DLLs that are associated with pirating, can y'all help?
I just got my PC and bought Borderlands 2, the steam app runs the game then instantly closes it. I tried opening the exe file but I get the following errors, all saying not found.

Just found out about Real Debrid
Just wanted to give a shoutout to this subreddit for introducing me to Real Debrid. I've been using Stremio and torrenting for years, but I had no idea how much of a game-changer Real Debrid could be. At first, I was a bit confused since I couldn't find a clear guide, but after doing some digging, I finally got the hang of it thanks to the helpful posts here. I've got it set up with Torrentio now, and it's been a total game-changer.
I ended up going for the 180+ day plan, and honestly, it’s been a blessing for Stremio. I saw a post notification about RD + Stremio pop up on my phone and got curious, which led me down this path.
And to those saying "We should be gatekeeping this for ourselves" under RD + Stremio posts—come on, that's so lame. We should be helping each other out and sharing tips on how to watch and download content. I’ve been torrenting since 2007, but I still find something new every time I visit this sub.

Do you guys still pirate things even if you have easy access to them through other means?
I have a Netflix subscription (I don’t pay for it) and 100% of the time when I want to watch a movie or a show on Netflix I just watch it there without even thinking of pirating because it’s so much easier. Do you guys also just consume media through legal means if you have easy access to it or do you still just pirate whatever you want to watch for the fun of it? I certainly take advantage of my free Netflix when I can (I mean technically it’s still piracy because I’m not the one paying for the subscription).

I can't believe at 44 in only learning about custom Windows installers. What am I missing?
So, I'm kinda embarrassed to say this but I only learned about custom OS's life tech ReviOS and Ghost. If you also don't know, they are customised versions of windows installations that offer better privacy and control over your PC.
For those of you that already know about these, can you offer any advice on which to choose, and why? I have a Radeon RX 5700 TX so I'm starting to get back into gaming so these OS's are quite intriguing since I'm rebuilding my PC with new motherboard and case tomorrow and I'm doing a fresh windows 11 install.
Any advice here is appreciated. Hopefully I don't get flamed/downvoted for asking this question.

After a year of (unsuccessful) attempts, I have to remove this from my HDD :(
I usually download 5-10 classic movies per month, and seed them for at least 2 more days before I make room for the next batch. This movie (I motorizzati) took some time: I added the VXT release from the old RARBG catalog more than a year ago, but after sloooowly reaching 89,3 % in a month it's stuck. The 1080p Yify one seems to be quite popular, but it's the same story after 10 months. It seems this one is lost :(
(After more than 6 months I got the 720p release, and the movie is OK but nothing special, still this was a matter of principle for me)

I pirated something I could play for free
I have xbox pc game pass, and I saw that there was a remake of Mafia 1 on it, so I wanted to try it out. I saw the download size was 30ish gbs, and looked up a fitgirl repack to see if there was a big difference. The repack was 11gb (with only English selected). So, I pirated something I "owned" just because of the size difference. For context, I live in a country with data caps, so it does make a difference to me.

PSA + Megathread Removal Request Downloaded software from lrepacks.net (marked as GOAT), got multiple accounts compromised - Gmail, LinkedIn, steam, epic, riot
I downloaded [Betternet Premium 5.0.5\](https://lrepacks.net/repaki-programm-dlya-interneta/492-betternet-premium-repack.html) using the first link from lrepacks. The zip file extracted a single exe file which when launched, started installing some stuff.
I felt some suspicion, so every time the 'make changes to your system' popup occurred, I pressed 'no', but still it somehow closed my chrome browser, opened edge, navigated to google login, activated full screen.
I panicked and shut down my PC quickly. On running it again, it asked for a permission, which kept appearing in loop if I pressed no. So I pressed 'yes', and the same edge->google happened again. I disconnected the ethernet cable.
But the hijacker had gained access to all my logged-in emails by then. I would later discover multiple devices logged in from various locations (Spain, Ukraine, Germany, etc.).
While I quickly got busy reinstalling Windows from USB - keeping the ethernet disconnected, I received multiple password change confirmations on my emails (via my phone). Some succeeded, others that had 2FA enabled with my phone number did not.
I've spent the last 5-6 hours logging out of all the devices and recovering all the accounts, still don't unsure of the extent of the damage caused.

Adobe has the most predatory subscription model imaginable
For two years now, 24 consecutive months, I have been stupid enough to give this garbage company my money. Today I went through all of my subscriptions and decided to finally cancel my Photo-plan with Adobe which costs me $12 a month. They recently just increased their pricing.
I was aware of the fact that you can't cancel your subscription early without being met with a cancellation fee (I was made aware of this after I first started subscribing, of course) though it's already been two years. But apparently, this 12 month subscription is renewed automatically, and unless you by some miracle decide to cancel within the 2 week period after said 12 month subscription is renewed, you'll be met with a fee. In my case, 66 goddamn dollars. Or that's what you would think, at least.
The insane part is, I started subscribing the 9th of August in 2022. I would ASSUME it would be renewed the 9th of August every year. I am billed on the 9th every month, after all. It's currently August 14th, and 2 weeks have not passed since the presumed renewal date. YET I'M STILL MET WITH A CANCELLATION FEE. Exactly WHEN can I cancel this garbage without being charged and exorbitant fee if not now?!
This is predatory, should be illegal, and I sure as hell hope they get sued to oblivion for this.
It is these sort of practices that lead people to piracy, and I will never in a million years ever give this garbage company another cent of my money. I hope hell has reserved an especially gruesome spot for the executive fucks who came up with the idea of having a cancellation fee for a monthly billed subscription model.
