who really are the warez scene people and is it possible to become one?
to elaborate further on the question, how does one really get into the cracking media trade? seeing as how there are sites and accesses being lost to so many well known sites (speaking about the downfall of pirate bay, rarbg and several others) how do I become among the people that "supply the goods"?
since this is illegal i highly doubt that there really is a comprehensive guide on this anywhere and I cant really take a course on it, but is there an actual path one can follow to do this?
i tried lookin into this but all I could find out is that these people are called the warez scene people if im correct but so many posts are from over 5 if not 8 years ago, and its so old that this seems like they are referred to as the people who sell media physical storages on the streets rather on torrents similar to how bitcoin used to be able to be carried on USBs (cold wallets/storages), but I think I carried my point across
the information I need is what do I need to learn to crack softwares and medias in this day and age to keep the legacy of the pirates alive and running?

Full HD 1080p IPTV?
Hello, so this will go out to those who have used multiple iptv services. I’m looking for an IPTV service that has all (American) live channels in 1080p. It seems that a lot of IPTV services either broadcast solely in 720p as “HD”, or have a mix of 720p and 1080p. I tried a free trial of StreamQ, one of the highest rated services currently, and both myself and support confirmed that there was a mix of 720p and 1080p.
Does anyone know if there’s a service that has full hd 1080p across the board? I’m willing to pay above average rates for a service that can offer this. Bitrate and image fidelity matter a lot to me.

Fighting the API prices: How to fetch data from Reddit without risking legal consequences?
Hello fellow pirates! As a consequence to the Reddit API pricing y'all know very well lots of redditors are migrating to Lemmy (there is also a c/piracy community). I wrote a simple bot that retrieve new posts from reddit and reposts it to lemmy. I have no legal experience, so I don't know how much of this is legal and what consequences I may get by doing so.
1. if anyone of you has the competence to understand reddit's Terms of service, is it legal to use the official API (as long as they work at least) to fetch post info from reddit and then repost it in lemmy?
2. what if instead of the official API I use a webscraper script, that navigate the reddit website as a "normal" user to get info and then repost to lemmy?
3. if any of these options are legal, are there "illegal but riskless" ways of doing so? so that the major risk is getting the bot taken down, but do not risk legal consequences myself

Youtube's enhanced bitrate made regular 1080P suck! Any way to get around it?

Q: does it count as piracy if the content is free?
Let me explain: the FTB Minecraft Modpack group recently released their own launcher and took down support for third-party launchers, so the only way to get their modpacks is by using their crappy, bloated, slow and ad-filled app (they are free tough). If i download the Modpacks and repack them as regular .zip modpacks and spread them on the internet like that would it count as piracy? Does it count as an illegal copy?

Can't seem to sideload books (epub) onto Kindle app on phone.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Since I started sideloading books onto the Kindle app I've always converted them to Mobi first using Calibre--quick and easy. Never had an issue. Now, when I try doing that, I keep getting emails stating that the mobi format will be discontinued.
Fair enough, I'll switch to epub.
I've tried emailing the epub-formatted books, using the "Send to Kindle" desktop app, and even sending them via Amazon's website. My books never get delivered, and have no idea where they're going, despite a message reading they've been sent successfully.
Any good tutorials out there, or some advice from the people here?

Best place to find bluray remuxes?
Where's everybody going for bluray remuxes, now that RARBG has gone away? That was one of my favorite things, pretty much EVERY movie that came out on bluray had a remux on RARBG. And a lot of remuxes of tv shows, too.
Edit: I still welcome any insight people have, but apparently it's been asked a number of times in this subreddit recently already. I did a search before, and didn't see anything recent, but I didn't realize I didn't have results sorted by date. I found a couple promising sites, but I'd still like to know what other people are using.

Is there something like trash-guides but fully updated for sonarr 4, etc?
A lot of the info is outdated for sonarr 3 and the 4beta stuff isn't correct.
Second it is constantly switching between anime and regular. If the point of view is to have a separate anime setup, then just have an end-to-end, step-by-step for setting that up anime and then regular shows as separate pages.
Hell, just host the config.xmls file that has it already set up per their standard and then let people modify it as needed.
I'll give a good example:
It says to group certain 1080 formats together for anime, But when I looked in the sonarr interface, it is already grouped. So that is outdated.
Another example:
The quality entries it lists are basically all the same as already in there. There is one difference for anime of omitting one particular entry. So you end up combing through the list trying to make sure it matches exactly instead of just saying - you don't need this one entry and this is why. Try and figure out which one.>!It is Raw-HD.!<
Third example: the guide talks about importing custom formats from v3. But what if you are starting from scratch in v4? You are kind of SOL unless you sit there and painstakingly figure it all out.
So as a guide, it is just suffering from being outdated and a bit difficult to follow. I am just looking for a current, updated setup that works cleanly and I don't have to reverse engineer a bunch of text that isn't laid out well.

Best public audiobook torrenting sites besides ABB & Mobilism
I have a severe disability which means I can't read text and I have basically no money.
I already have Libby and Hoopla, and while they're great, they still don't have many titles I'm looking for. And being broke, I can't afford Audible credits.
On ABB, a lot of the older or lesser-known books have 0 seeders. On Mobilism, many links are broken or low quality.
I've tried some other sites, notably PirateBay, LimeTorrents, KickAss, Torrentz2, Audiobb, AudiobooksBee, etc. But they just seem to run into same problems of 0 seeders or not even listed at all.
Many of the sites around the internet seem to have tons of ebooks with many seeders, but can't find a good resource for audiobooks. Any suggestions? Or even a good search indexer / aggregator?

Can someone help me find a watch together solution?
My friend lives in a country with a poor connection. It's not terrible but for the life of me, I cannot get Plex's watch together to work right. It's a great feature but her connection isn't fast enough to stream from my PC. Well, that or mine isn't fast enough. It just doesn't work well with her though I've gotten this feature to work in a test with other people.
The limitations are that she doesn't have a PC, poor connection and some services aren't available to her anyway. Shit, I forgot what normal people go through to watch shit. I will also consider refurbishing or purchasing a chrome book for her if all else fails.
From what I've searched, this particular feature revolves around streaming. Streaming, streaming, everything streaming. What about good old fashion rips?
Is there a way to sync a showing of a movie, if both of us have the same local copy? It can be on an Android, iPhone or chrome, it doesn't matter. I just can't find anything but services that stream together. Nothing to simply sync and play if we both have a copy.

Where are your morals when pirating?
Are there things that you'll happily pay for, and others you'll exclusively pirate?
For example, I'll always pay for the music from my favourite artists. This will either be a CD or a digital download.
I've found myself donating to already free open-source software, whilst refusing to pay for software like Adobe's creative apps. Mainly because of their, in my opinion, awful software as a service model.
To support TV-shows, I've bought and gifted merchandise, refusing to subscribe to multiple streaming services to only watch a handful of shows in high quality.
When it comes to games, I'll often purchase them on Steam during one of their many sales. Though this can quickly change if the game has ridiculous features in place, such as preventing you from playing the game without an internet connection.
My compass may be a bit wacky, but it's not always about the money. It's about... Oh god!

Are there any good public torrent sites I can upload torrents to?
I seed several rare RARBG torrents (Blu-Ray 3D ISOs) which I would like to upload to a public torrent site so others can find them (after adding some trackers for those that don't have at least one working tracker at the moment obv). The torrents don't exist in TPB or 1337x.
The problem is, I can't find a good public torrent site that allows uploading. TPB has closed new registrations, and 1337x just denied my application to become a user capable of uploading.
So here is a question: Assuming I have a nice .torrent file, is there a good public torrent site I can upload it to? What would you recommend?
