Downloading directly to external drive question.
I recently returned to the seas after a decade or so and am useing Qbittorrent on a dedicated machine for all my downloading. Problem is I have to download to an external drive due to storage limitations, but it keeps throwing errors and when I look them up it is usually blamed on dowloading to an external drive.
Question is what is the best way to do the wrong thing? I have to use the external, so what is the best way to do it? Preferably without spending to much money.
Computer is Lenovo - IdeaPad 1 14" Laptop, HDD is seagate momentus 500gb in a usb 3.0 sled.

How are you sure that MAS is safe?
Genuinely interested. Yeah, it's out there on Github, and you can check the code, but who has really done it? I am not that tech savvy, and I can't tell if I should trust this code or not. People say that it's just fine, yet there are a few comments stating that people got themselves malware "out of the blue". Not accusing anybody of anything, just saying some people claim to have experienced it.
That's why I'm asking how you can make sure it's a safe thing to do, and would appreciate if somebody could explain it.

Guide: how to never use torrent sites ever again. (mods please pin this to spread the knowledge)
Hello everyone, today I will be showing you how to use the search function in qbittorrent so that you no longer have to fuck around with torrent sites, and do not have to ask which sites are best for X or Y.
This function is best used for Movies or TV shows (yes you can get boxsets as well if you know how to search properly)
This is OC and because of this, will be edited to fix errors, etc.
STEP 1: Install qbittorrent from ([https://www.qbittorrent.org/](https://www.qbittorrent.org/)) for your operating system. If you are using windows, you can open the windows terminal and type in. This will silently install Qb on your device
winget install --id=qBittorrent.qBittorrent -e
STEP 2: Open the application and in the top titlebar, please go to View and select Search in that option ( I also use RSS, but Im not sure a lot of people do, so im not including it in this guide)

STEP 6: How to search: This is very important to get the best quality files

Libgen books dont show on ereader
So i've downloaded a few books from libgen.fun like I always do. However once I tried to transfer the downloaded books on my ereader they transfer but I can't see them on my ereader.
I've just checked the file size and they are all 9 kb which is really strange. Can anyone help me please?

How to remove (text) watermarks from a PDF file (textbook)
1. Watermark was added and pdf with it wasn't converted to an image pdf (so every page is not an image but a proper pdf page)
1.1 It was added with "add watermark" feature in Acrobat - just go to acrobat and select "remove watermarks" in the Edit menu
1.2 It was added with another software and looks like text (or link) on every page
1.2.1 Download LibreOffice, open your pdf with it (this app has 'Find and Replace all' feature that doesnt exist in Adobe Acrobat)
Find and replace your text (leave the replace field empty - text will be deleted)
2. Watermark was added and after than the pdf was converted to an image pdf (so all pages are images). Here i will explain how to almost completely remove it, but it only works if the watermark is a text or any monochrome shape with opacity =/= 100
2.1 Go to Acrobat, export all pages as .png.
2.2 Browse your PDF and find a blank page. What we are doing is creating an image of the watermark on a white background so it will be easier to remove background and export as transparent
If there is no blank pages, find ones in which text/image will cover one half (third etc) of the watermark and another - another half. Open them in any graphic editor that supports layers (i use Paint Tool SAI 2), then compose images so the watermark is on a white background. It is important that you dont crop the image and leave it with the same resolution that is on every image (every page of the pdf).
2.3 Download Affinity Photo Portable and open it
2.4 Open the image with the watermark on a white background, select all the white background and delete it. Dont close the window with watermark (window 1, for convenience)
2.5 In Affinity - View - Studio - enable Macro
You will see Macro Panel on the left
2.6 Open any of the exported previously pngs (window 2) then open window with the watermark (window 1), select and copy all picture (ctrl+a, ctrl+c).
2.7 Go back to opened png (window 2), start the macros recording (red button). Paste (ctr+v) the watermark, select in Layers the blending mode (Normal on default - select Color Dodge, change opacity if necessary). Stop the recording, add macro to library
2.8 In Affinity - File - New Batch Job - select all the pngs of the PDF + save as png + save into (create any folder) + select your Macro, Apply - "OK"
2.9 You will have pngs with removed watermark, convert them back to PDF

Searching for an old "game pack"
Hi,
as the title says, I'm looking for an older "game pack" of some sort that I barely remember.
Around 2010 I remember having a program on my brother's computer that roughly looked like this:

I remember it having a black ball/dot for an icon, and it was in "dark mode". We called it "black dot" because of that - we can't remember the actual name.
One of the games I remember playing from it was "KGB Hunter" which young me brilliantly named "CAR STAR" because of a red star on the game's title screen.
I remember a few other games from it:
a game similar to Wipeout - racing with some sort of spaceships on tracks
a racing game where the only car was a Dodge Viper which could be painted red, blue, green, yellow, magenta, orange, or cyan
I think the people that made it were some sort of group and they distributed this "game pack" through their website which I also kind of remember. My brother told me that a friend had downloaded it for him and then gave him a DVD with it.
I'd like to discover it again - I can't find the previously mentioned DVD, that's why I'm asking here.
As I already said, this was in around 2010 so I don't remember much, but if I can provide any more information, I will try :-) Thank you for your time.

Just like the title says, wondering if there's anything out there that will let a user download AIFF or FLAC music files for free directly from a service. I'm a Deezloader user, but my Deezer subscription expired, so before I re-up I thought it would be wise to check! Looked in the megathread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/wiki/megathread/music/) and I didn't see what i'm looking for, but i'm not a power user, so may have missed something obvious. I just got a mac and want to start playing the sims 4 on it. I have it on console and multiple packs that I obviously can’t transfer and I dont have the money to rebuy all my packs.
