Let's say hypothetically I have a 2 of 3 multi sig wallet set up with 3 hardware wallets and 3 seeds across 6 locations that I cannot access right now. I want to generate a single sig receive address for each of the 3 wallets and send a dummy amount of bitcoin to them so I can watch if any of them get compromised. Am I ok to purchase a 4th hardware wallet, restore the seed from my memory for each wallet one by one with the new device, wiping it each time, in order to obtain 3 receive addresses to send the dummy bitcoin to? <!-- SC_OFF -->My UK bank Revolut is a crypto friendly bank enabling to buy crypto in their banking app. It's a relatively easy way to invest in crypto because most UK banks don't even allow you to send money to crypto exchanges. Until two days ago, Revolut would limit withdrawals (sending BTC to other wallets, usually one's hardware wallet) to some very low limits. It was only £2500 worth of BTC per month, and £500 per day. So if someone had let's say 0.3 BTC in their Revolut account, and if BTC price went up, it would take years to move it to another wallet. This effectively is a form of capital controls because it puts a lid on moving capital out of Trad-Fi and into Crypto Land. But this limit was removed two days ago. The limits now make way more sense, it's £10,000 per day and £100,000 per year. So now someone can move £100,000 worth of BTC to their hardware wallet in one transaction, if they wish. I wonder if the timing is important. If BTC would rip to the upside with the previous limits in place, Revolut would be have a lot of angry customers on their hands. I have also developed quite a few tools that have helped get me a few steps further, and in some cases, may well help some poor soles out there. If there are enough people out there, that need help, I will consider releasing the software, and providing a manual / description of setup. At this point, I would like to point out the disapointing history of Bitcoind - If you were an early adopter of bitcoin, and had a wallet generated by Bitcoin core, in the early days, then your wallet was generated froma pool, and cannot be linked to your passphrase, if you have your wallet file, it can be rebuilt and used. Such a nonesense and poor implementation. - If anyone has a clue about this, the I would like to hear from you and perhaps you can help me gain access to my wallet. If you have been scammed, or lost bitcoin through a transaction error, then I also do not know of a way to help you. Anyway - Let me know or if you have needs or require a method of getting your wallet back, and have partial information, then this may be a route for you to go down. Either I can do it for you, or I can provide you with the information and software to help you. All you need to know, is how to install a python distribution, and to know how to run code, and installing python modules. Ive always been concerned that there are so few pools needed to gain over 51% hash power. Particularly as economies of scale and halvings make it more and more important to scale up and become more efficient. What happens in the year 21XX when block rewards have largely / entirely depleted? Is the expectation that transaction costs have ramped up massively to make up for it? How do we reconcile that with the throughput demand? Do we expect number go up in perpetuity? How does that reconcile with per- transaction costs? Long term ramifications? For several days millions of dollars of crypto were minted out of thin air- Kraken hack/bug bounty controversy

<!-- SC_OFF -->Today the group CertiK made a post on Twitter revealing multiple vulnerabilities including an exploit that allows any number of "fabricated crypto" to be deposited into any account, the post wasn't made to publicly share this information but to display a situation going on between them and Kraken. According to CertiK- "After initial successful conversions on identifying and fixing the vulnerability, Kraken’s security operation team has THREATENED individual CertiK employees to repay a MISMATCHED amount of crypto in an UNREASONABLE time even WITHOUT providing repayment addresses." A closer look at the situation reveals that CertiK hacked into Kraken- and using the exploits they found- minted and sent around 3 million USD to wallets they own. This was performed under a bug bounty scope- meaning the end goal is to help Kraken by exploiting their system and then after revealing how it was done they receive payment- although unsolicited hacking isn't typical in any bug bounty. It gets a bit more interesting when we find out that CertiK is apparently refusing to send back all of the funds until Kraken pays them more than the bug bounties set payout- they would like what in their opinion is proper pay. Personally I have mixed feelings about this- while I don't think this is good sentiment for the overall bug bounty environment- I'm indifferent on exchanges being hacked, they're not safe and people need to self custody.
