Did people of Telangana get real freedom after division?
Hi people of Hyderabad,
This post might trigger people but I am writing this post based on my experience after returning to my home state after 5 years living abroad and this is my observation.
This post ain’t about language wars nor creating divide.
What happened to the Telangana common man?
Case 1 :
Literally other day I was at CARE HOSPITAL, and all the receptionist were non local, like I speak multi languages but I had to be an translator to a random old women cause the receptionist didn’t speak Telugu and the old lady didn’t speak Hindi.
I thought that’s just reception but trust me even house keeping, nurses except doctors not many spoke Telugu and don’t even understand it.
Case 2 :
I was at an well reputed tiffin center (Taaza tiffins), when I first visited when they opened all the staff were Telugu and the quality of food and service was top notch, after 5 years I go to Same place and boom 90% of the staff are non Telugu, and when I say something in Telugu they don’t understand so had to switch to hindi.
Case 3 :
Went to an temple in basheerbagh which is filled with majority of Marwari people, I didn’t mind but what stuck to me was the poojari or priest was actually forming cult and preaching hate against certain religion and my friend who is localie told me how they all removed a Muslim landlord from that area via harassing them and made them sell their house. And guess what the priest did? Tied a cow in that house and made it shit and piss for a month in name of cleansing.
In all these instances I was looking where the common Telangana man is? Even in office I felt Telangana people are minority.
What happened in these 5 years? And even in my village people are travelling to assam and other states cause no one is hiring them.
So this just doesn’t only apply for Hyderabad but whole state.
This made me feel sad that our own people are being ill treated and not presented with opportunities on equal grounds.

Paid for a sleeper bus, got drenched in piss by a drunk idiot. What the hell do I do now?
I'm an introvert and had problems like socialising with people. Being a man with slightly high pitched voice. So, I’m seriously pissed right now and don’t even know what to do. I booked a sleeper bus for a long journey through Paytm, ( VRCR Bus) as I was traveling from pileru to Hyderabad thinking it would be a comfortable ride. Instead, I ended up in a nightmare.
There was a drunk passenger in the bed above me, and this guy literally pissed in his bed. I’m talking about full-on urine-soaked hell dripping all over me. When I tried to talk to him about it, he yelled at me like I did something wrong. Like, are you kidding me?
To make it worse, the bus company (who I can’t even find a proper official page for) didn’t care about the situation at all. I'm left sitting in this disgusting mess, feeling helpless and furious.
I’m beyond pissed. I’ve paid for a service and got treated like this. What’s worse is that drunk people are being allowed onboard in the first place. How the hell is this acceptable?
I need some advice here—what the hell do I do now? I’ve already contacted Paytm, but I don’t know if I should escalate this to authorities or something. Should I just let it go, or is there a way to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else?

Continuing my last post here (experience in Hyderabad)
Need help
Hi Hyderabad
I recently relocated to Hyderabad and my experience here is really good, made a lot of friends and explored Hyderabad.
Now a new flatmate joined us and he asked my credit card for discount, I let him use my credit card for 28k txn as he said he will give my money back once he gets the salary within 7 days.
I waited for him to pay but he didn't and start asking more and more
I trusted Yashwant enough to lend him money on the condition that he would repay me within a week. Unfortunately, he has repeatedly made false promises and excuses, refusing to return the funds.
I asked him politely that please return my money I've to go to my hometown for diwali and I've to make some payments. He keeps delaying this everyday and still he haven't given me any single penny.
I am unsure of the best course of action to recover the stolen funds. I would be grateful for any advice or guidance you can provide.
Please help me to recover my money. I don't speak Telugu
I can share his number in DM. If someone wants to help me.
Update :-
I came back on 12th night and I was looking for medicine in my cupboard but I was shocked that my DSLR was missing from my bag. There was some cash also he took some and left 1500rs I'm not sure how much cash I kept there.
Upon calling him he rejected my claims and said he don't know about DSLR
Later when I said I'm going to police station he accepted that he stole the camera and sold it.
PS yashwant vacated the flat around 1 Nov
I went to my hometown on 21 Oct and returned on 12 Nov .

Did anyone of you ever used India post letters for communication irl
Folks, can you believe Indian Postal Service was the only bridge of communication between me and my parents during my school (boarding) days.
We all used to buy 25 paise post cards or 1.5 Rs inland letters and used them to communicate with parents and friends back home. Money orders were very common too (we all hoped postman shouts our name when he comes to the class room to get the sign and give cash)

Does this make anyone nostalgic? Any interesting memories?
Please don’t judge me to be from Stone Age, I am one among you.. turning 33 later this month :)

Opinion about the Current CM and His administration, Keeping politics aside.
I am from Karnataka, working in Hyderabad from the past 3 years. When I came to this city, Had came across KCR, KTR and thier team doing good things to Hyderabad city. Ktr was popular thanks to his great ambition to HYD. Then came the Revanth Reddy Administration. Forget the actual development, All I see in the news is how he's HYDRAA for power.
To The actual Hyderabad people, What's your honest Opinion about the current administration? Are they doing well or using thier power for own purposes?

Is it just me or the service staff in a lot of restaurants/cafes these days just plain rude?
I have seen servers being obnoxious for no reason especially at high end cafes. They roll their eyes and make faces even at the mere slight of customers. I don't expect them to be super friendly and warm but atleast be polite? That's the least you can do being in the service industry? I understand they are not exactly paid well and have to endure poor working conditions but most of these sophisticated places are not doing themselves any favors hiring arrogant and judgmental staff.

Frustrated. I can't have a peaceful night's sleep in this City.
Our city has completely gone downhill under the new government! Forget about development; even our daily lives are getting ruined. Here I am, stuck without power for over 6 hours on a weekend, the only day I have to rest from my exhausting schedule.
Last week, my mother, who had just undergone knee surgery, was forced to wait in the parking lot for five hours because of yet another power cut. Can you imagine the pain and discomfort she had to endure?
And let’s talk about the roads. The ones in front of my house are so damaged I had to replace my car’s suspension and fix a broken catalytic converter! Repairs that could have been avoided if the infrastructure was even remotely maintained.
To make matters worse, last month my brother was attacked by a couple of goons in broad daylight just because he refused to let them break a traffic light. All of this happened right in front of the police, who, unsurprisingly, did nothing.
Is this what we work so hard and pay taxes for? Are we just supposed to watch as lawlessness and negligence become the norm? I never thought I’d say this, but I actually miss the BRS government’s governance. At least we didn’t have to deal with this kind of mess.
I get shivers that it's hardly a year that passed by and 3 more years of suffering.

Seriously???
Power Cut at 6.30am. Went to office. Came back at 5pm. Phir 5.25 light gayi. It isn't even raining. Hyderabad is striving to be a world class city. Why don't they move their power cables underground like in Delhi.

Scared to buy a flat
Long post alert!
Sorry for a long post on a Monday morning. But looking for some guidance here as we don't have a dedicated real estate sub for Hyderabad.
My Wife (31F) n I (33M) both are working in IT and finance fields, respectively. We never wanted to buy a flat. We thought of staying in a rented flats with convience of moving wherever needed (near kids school, near office in case we switched jobs). We planned to settle down in a house when we are near our retirement.
But but we had a baby recently and all the equations changed. We don't want to have a second child. So, in the hopes of providing our child with a better environment we started looking for flats (make some memories in a own house and have friends around growing up as he is single child) in gated societies. Given our offices are around Gachibowli, we started looking at kondapur and masjid Banda.
We spent around couple of weekends going around that area and saw that all these gated societies are crampy shit with absurd pricing. We found a ready to move one ina decent society where a 3BHK costs us around close to ~2Cr including registration and interiors.
After all these, im sitting here trying to weigh pros and cons
Pros:
- As said earlier, emotional gratification that you get from house (own house for kid to grow up, no hassle of dealing with greedy landlords every few years)
- From a location perspective, it is good, decent distance from our offices (~30 mins) commute, decent schools near by. I don't want to move to other locations like tellapur, kollur etc as they are far away from the city. TBH I don't know what exactly is city anymore
- The society is okay, not too cramped (<100 flats per acre). Honestly, this one isn't great but others are too bad with crazy density and high prices.
Cons:
- We will be spending all of our savings on this and then will be taking a loan of close to ~1.4cr, which I believe will become a payment of ~2.2cr at current interest rates if we take a 10 year term. At todays salaries we can afford it but in case one of us loses job, then it will be very tough to manage.
- I don't know if it is the right time to buy a flat. As a finance guy, this doesn't make sense when the rental yield is at best ~4% at CMPs. I spoke to a few 'real estate uncles' (sorry for the terminology when I myself am an uncle). I got varied opinions. There are people who say it's a cooling off period after a period of crazy rise from 2021-23 till interest rates fall and then prices will move upagain. Others say there's an impending recession looming and prices will fall. I feel like I'm over paying but I am looking for immediate use and don't trust any tier 2 builders around timelines with any of the under construction or pre-launch projects.
- I feel we are moving too quickly. It has only been in June mid that we thought of buying one and we are near closing a flat now. I guess I am anxious about the huge debt burden.
Looking to any of the folks who went through the same to guide me with their perspective.
TLDR: Thinking of buying a flat in Kondapur area at ~2CR. Unable to decide to buy or to pass.
