Rikkei Finance Collateral Factor

Assets held by the Rikkei Finance protocol are used as collateral to borrow from the protocol. Each market has a collateral factor, ranging from 0% to 90%, that represents the percentage of the underlying asset value that can be borrowed. Illiquid, small-cap assets have low collateral factors; while liquid, high-cap assets have high collateral factors.

The collateral factor is determined by the protocol based on market liquidity measurement, volatility rate of an asset so that during the liquidation period, the market for this asset will not fluctuate too greatly to affect the system. This also protects the protocol from over-collateralized loans and default risk.

Rikkei Finance 5-Phase Asset Selection Process

With a transparent 5-phase asset selection process, assets at Rikkei Finance will be evaluated using a self-developed Liquidity Ranking System, ensuring that only the most liquid assets are allocated to the pool, minimizing the risk of market manipulation and thereby ensuring system sustainability.

To begin, data crawling is used to collect asset data on a daily basis. The assets meeting the minimum criteria in terms of market cap, volume, ratio of circulated to total supply and other factors will then be filtered into phase 3 for liquidity measurement and ranking. In phase 3, we evaluate the asset market and rank the assets using a set of metrics such as Turnover ratio, Current ratio and Hui heubel liquidity ratio. The top-ranking assets would then be further analyzed and entered into the voting section before being officially added into the pool.

Rikkei Finance Interest Rate Model

Interest Rate Model is amongst the most important factors that contribute to the working mechanism of Rikkei Finance. At Rikkei Finance, we utilize the multi-kinked model interest rate instead of the traditional simple linear interest rate model. The strength of the multi-kinked model is that it can handle the stress point of high utilization rate (Ut). At that point, borrowing demand is significantly high and all users borrow at the maximum. As a result, if the market witnesses a significant price correction, it will create a mass liquidation effect, directly reducing the liquidity of the protocol and making the system unsustainable. RIFI’s approach is to increase the borrow interest rate considerably to reduce risk and limit borrowing at this time.
