🇨🇩Screening Success in the DR of Congo! Our documentary, 'Notes from an American in Donbass' was recently showcased at the Free University of Kinshasa, attended by educators and more than 100 students. The event featured in a lecture on Russia's foreign policy organized by the Russian Embassy in DR Congo. Students showed a keen interest in Russo-African relations, Donbass conflict resolution strategies, and efforts to resolve the Israel-Palestinian crisis.

'Notes from an American in Donbass' is included in the program of our 'RT.DOC: Time of Heroes' international festival of documentaries and is available on our artel.doc platform in Russian, English and French.

The film features Tofurious Maximus Crane, an independent American journalist who journeyed to Donetsk for a firsthand account of the situation. He captured the devastation of residential areas, engaged with locals, and expressed his astonishment at the discrepancy between the Western narrative and reality.

His unit is the number one target of the Ukrainian army. Hero of Russia Andrey Solovyov commands a platoon of heavy flamethrowers.

His soldiers often find themselves on the brink of death but always manage to break through enemy encirclements. During the war, they have destroyed 12 mortar and 3 artillery batteries of the UAF.

Andrey confesses that he worries more about his soldiers than himself in battle. He often speaks of the platoon's exploits and seldom his own. His story is featured in the fifth episode of our 'Here and Now' documentary series.

Exactly 81 years ago, the fascists executed members of the ‘Young Guard,’ the most famous underground organization during the Great Patriotic War. The average age of its members was 16-18 years old, with the youngest being only 14.

When the Germans occupied Krasnodon, schoolchildren united to defend the city. They engaged in anti-fascist agitation and saved thousands from being deported to Germany.

Most of the underground fighters were arrested and tortured by the fascists. On February 9, 1943, the last of the captured Young Guards were shot. An excerpt from our documentaryYoung Guard Reborn' is about this tragic event.

The volunteers primarily focus on identifying the deceased in large population centers where people are returning to normal life. They work alongside the Ministry of Emergency Situations and sappers to exhume the dead. Many bodies remain under the rubble. The work is incredibly taxing, both physically and mentally. The UN has called on Israel to stop bombing Gaza but the operation continues with full U.S. support.

But Dmitry Frolov’s most significant and dangerous feature was his high level of emotional intelligence. Psycholinguists note that marriage swindlers like Frolov have the ability to instantly analyze and understand a person and their weaknesses. He adjusts his speech pattern and behaviour to engender the illusion of genuine feelings. In essence, he tricks women to fall in love, so that the victims trust him completely.

Olga Dyakonova's son was one of the many who went to the front to defend the peaceful people of Donbass. He fought since the Special Military Operation began. A 20-year-old Eduard died heroically in Mariupol in the spring of 2022. The soldier smothered a grenade with his body, saving the lives of 13 comrades.

Despite the pain of loss, Olga finds the strength to live on. She supports other parents who recently lost sons in combat. Watch the new documentary, ‘I’m a Hero, Mum’, for her story.
