Pakistan seeks ceasefire in deadly sectarian violence
Government officials met with tribal leaders in northern Pakistan on Sunday to attempt to strike a ceasefire in the swathe of Sunni-Shiite violence that has claimed 68 lives since Thursday.
"There have been positive developments in engagements with stakeholders," said the information minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province where the violence has taken place.
Islamabad fears the death toll will continue to rise as communications in the area are down making accurate news hard to obtain - while the helicopter carrying the government delegation was shot at on Saturday before landing safely.

Gunman shot dead outside Israeli embassy in Jordan - Israeli media
Three cops were reportedly injured in the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning, security forces told Israeli media, before which residents of the Rabiah neighborhood of the Jordanian capital Amman had been warned to remain indoors while the suspect was hunted.
The shooter had apparently fired at a police convoy, with several shots clearly heard through footage posted online.
