US and Israel ‘coordinating’ jihadist offensive in Syria – Iran
The jihadist offensive in Syria was launched in coordination with the US and Israel, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei said on Monday. According to the diplomat, it is no coincidence that the terrorists attacked northern Syria right after Israel struck a ceasefire deal with Hezbollah.
The official suggested that the US and Israel were using the attack to “weaken Syria” and “create division and sedition among Islamic countries.”

Zelensky says Kiev’s only hope to retake land is diplomacy
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky acknowledged that Ukraine's army lacks the strength for a true counteroffensive, calling for diplomatic rather than military solutions. In an interview with Kyodo News, he described the war as entering a "challenging phase" with Russia advancing rapidly in the Donbas area.
However, he ruled out a surrender and renewed calls for Ukraine's NATO membership. Previously, Zelensky insisted on reclaiming 1991 borders, which existed before the Crimean republic voted to join Russia following a coup in Kiev.

Italian tax system explicitly favors rich, overburdens middle-income earners – study
Italy's tax system disproportionately benefits the wealthiest 7% of the population, allowing them to pay a smaller share of their income in taxes compared to low- and middle-income earners, a new study shows.
The tax system becomes regressive for those earning over €76,000, while those earning between €29,000 and €75,000 contribute more than 40% of income tax revenue, with their tax burden remaining progressive, according to the study by five economists including former Treasury official Alessandro Santoro.
