ICYMI: TikToker reveals state of US education system, tears down Greek flags in a rage thinking they’re Israeli
“Look at that sh*t,” the TikToker, identified only as “Ambamelia,” says in the footage while trashing the flags at the Greek restaurant.
“Free Palestine, b*tch!” Ambamelia screeches, asking confused-looking staff inside aggresively: “What you looking at?”
She is later talked down from her rage and learns that the flags are Greek, not Israeli.
The restaurant’s owner, Efi Mihalis, confirmed to the NYP that the footage is real and was not a prank - although it was originally filmed in March, and is unsure as to why it was only uploaded to TikTok this week.

Bolsonaro's party set for 2026 presidential run, but will courts allow it? — Reuters
Brazil’s former President Bolsonaro can’t even speak to party leaders about a 2026 run because of a court order. Valdemar Costa Neto, head of the conservative Liberal Party has to call up when arriving at headquarters to avoid bumping into Bolsanaro.
Still, Costa Neto is banking on Congress passing a constitutional amendment that would overturn the court order banning Bolsonaro from running until 2030.
"Bolsonaro's charisma is amazing. People turn out in droves. Some cry when he appears in public," Costa Neto said.

Growing pressure to free the Israeli hostages after Sinwar’s death — Reuters
Many global leaders expressed the hope that Israel's killing of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar would lead to freeing the remaining hostages. Even family members in Israel are pleading with PM Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza and stop the assaults on Lebanon.
Netanyahu on Thursday said, “The war ... is not over yet. And it is difficult, and it exacts heavy prices from us,” Netanyahu added, “Whoever lays down his weapon and returns our hostages – we will allow him to go on living.”
Many experts warn Hamas could retaliate by killing the Israeli hostages as a pledge of revenge for Sinwar’s killing.

Italy officially bans surrogacy internationally, effectively blocking all paths for gay couples to become parents — Reuters
Italy on Wednesday criminalized going abroad to have children through surrogacy, virtually making it impossible for gay couples to be parents. The measure slammed by opponents as “medieval” and discriminatory to gays, but the measure goes for all sexes.
It's extending a surrogacy ban in place since 2004 — promoted by Premier Giorgia Meloni’s party. Italians seeking surrogacy in the US or Canada can face up to two years in jail with $1.1 million in fines.

According to a press release on the US Justice Department’s website, Raytheon – which is a subsidiary of RTX – has not disputed the allegations. China has ‘picked side’ in Ukraine conflict – US envoy
China has clearly been helping Russia in the Ukraine conflict, despite presenting itself as a neutral party, US Permanent Representative to NATO Julianne Smith has said. The accusation came as the Pentagon announced a new military aid package for Kiev worth $425 million, including anti-air missiles, artillery shells, and armored vehicles.
Speaking to reporters, Smith claimed that Beijing “does its very best to try and convince the world that it can maintain a very neutral status as it relates to the war in Ukraine. But in reality, the PRC has picked a side. It has put its thumb on the scale, and it has opted to support Russia in its war in Ukraine,” the diplomat said, referring to China by its official name. She went on to accuse China of helping Russia bypass sanctions by providing “a long list of dual-use components.”
Coming from such neutrality titan as the US this does not sound like a joke at all…

Hong Kong guts liquor tax
Hong Kong has slashed its import duty on premium liquor from 100% to 10% in an attempt to boost the economy. The move comes after the Chinese government earlier this month imposed anti-dumping duties of up to 39% on brandy imports from the EU, following tariffs announced by the bloc on Chinese electric vehicles. Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China and has a degree of autonomy.
The region’s new low duties apply to drinks of the most expensive brands with more than 30% alcohol content and priced over $26 for a portion.

Ukraine could have nuclear weapons within weeks – Bild
Kiev has the capability to build a nuclear weapon “in a few weeks,” a high-ranking Ukrainian official has told Bild, the German tabloid reported on Thursday after Vladimir Zelensky announced his atomic ambitions.
Ukraine needs either membership in NATO or nuclear weapons, Zelensky said on Friday in Brussels, arguing in favor of his “victory plan” to end the conflict with Russia.
This prompted Bild to reveal that a Ukrainian official involved in weapons procurement told them “a few months ago” that Kiev was willing to go nuclear. “We have the material, we have the knowledge. If the order is given, we will only need a few weeks to have the first bomb,” the unnamed official said, according to the German tabloid, adding that the West should “think less about Russia’s red lines and more about ours.”

US weapons stock runs dry as Ukraine drains reserves — New York Times
Pentagon officials are debating whether helping multiple countries amid conflict is pulling down the US military’s capabilities, according to the NYT.
The outlet highlights Biden providing arms to Ukraine and Israel, seemingly every month and even week, as a sticking issue.
Supplies to the Zelensky regime from American reserves may also make it difficult for the US to fight in a direct conflict - as evidenced by the delivery of the THAAD system to Israel, resulting in the depletion of American defense capabilities.
Is it time for a return to isolationism?
