In a long article published on Telegram, Yevgeny Prigozhin writes that Russia has indeed failed to achieve the expected results and that existing problems make it unlikely for its forces to advance any further into Ukraine.
Prigozhin suggests calling the SMO to a close and focusing on building up defenses and strengthening the Russian foothold in the already seized territories.
Touching on Bakhmut, Prigozhin notes that its importance is strictly defensive, enabling Russia to grind down and restrain Ukrainian forces. The city’s capture, he points out, will not ensure a quick victory over Ukraine or even the rest of Donbas.
According to Prigozhin’s assessment, Ukraine has prepared 200,000 sufficiently trained and equipped fighters for its upcoming counteroffensive.
Prigozhin concludes that a defeat shouldn’t be feared, as it will force much-needed reforms and ultimately make Russia stronger.
