TheSandboxGame is laying off more than 50% of its staff, and the founders have been sidelined.

Sebastien Borget and Arthur Madrid no longer have executive roles and have been replaced by Robby Yung, CEO of Animoca Brands.

According to TheBigWhale, more than half of the 250 employees are being laid off, with office closures planned in Argentina, Uruguay, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and soon Lyon.

• Co-founders Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget stepped down from daily management roles. They now serve as Non-Executive Chair and Global Ambassador.
