استاد تحصيلات خود را تا مقطع ديپلم در تهران گذراندند و تحصيلات عاليه را تا مدارج دكتري زبان و ادبيات انگليسي در انگلستان ادامه دادند و به كمال رساندند. بيش از ٥٠ سال سابقه تدريس به  هموطنان ايراني و آشوری دارند. از اين مدت ٣٥ سال را به تدريس در دانشگاه هاي تهران، ملي، طباطبايي، قم، اروميه، اراك و چند شهر ديگر اشتغال داشته اند. حدود ٦٠٠ كتاب و بيش از ١٥٠ مقاله در زمينه هاي گوناگون به نگارش درآورده اند. به ١٨٩ كشور جهان در طول زندگیشان سفر نموده اند...
دكتر پيرا هميشه تكرار مي كنند:
"اگر باز هم به دنيا بيايم، حتما معلم
خواهم شد چون پيشه اي مقدس تر ازمعلمي سراغ ندارم"
