Using shitty coffee in a better brewing method is actually pretty effective for my needs. I use like... The Kroger brand pre-ground right now but I do it in a french press so it's slowly extracted. Actually tastes just fine.

Ooo, I have a fun Office Coffee Machine anecdote!

We had a touch-screen coffee bot thing that did a bunch of different stuff, had hoppers for many bean types - neat thing. A vendor came by once a week to refill and it replace the filter rolls.

It was named Joe Jr and I never questioned why - the guy in charge of the Implementations and Projects Team was named Joe. I figured it was just a joke at his expense somehow.

One day I'm in the kitchen with the owner and he refers to Coffee Bot as Joe Jr and I was like "How'd that come about, anyway? Did Joe pick the coffee machine?"

"No, when Gavin [his first child] was born, he wanted to name him Joe Jr but his wife VEHEMENTLY vetoed it. The Coffee Bot was born about 3 weeks later and we all pretty much unanimously decided on its name while he was out on Paternity Leave."
