it's not even about "chasing fortnite" it's the fact that anything multiplayer is held up to fortnite as a measuring stick and anything singleplayer is just a sequel or a remake/reboot of (worryingly) varying quality

the biggest issue with games these days is they're not willing to take risks, they play things way too close to the chest like "we're call of duty for people who don't want to spend $60 on call of duty" and then it looks and plays like $5

Battle royale is a cancer. Let me spend 10 minutes roaming around a map trying to find a single enemy when a match of call of duty multiplayer is over in 10 minutes. Battle royale doesn’t respect your time. But to be fair. Counter strike takes like 45 minutes for a whole match of multiple rounds. But battle royale is 1 time wasting game in the same time frame
