Real ID needs to be enacted by all 50 states in order for it to be effective. The party in the White House has very little to do with individual states being prepared.

I don't think it would EVER extend to state/local, especially not here; the whole point of the "realid" shit is basically to exclude non-citizens from participating in programs that they should otherwise have full access to. it's a racist policy, through and through, and while it may have cleared the LOW bar of the federal supreme court, it won't stand in many states , if challenged (here especially)
