yeah my 16 and my 64 fight a bit but I typically get no less than 48ish (it's 2 8 and 2 32 but I don't want to ditch the 16 yet because it's still working, I just wanted more than 16 so it didn't become my instant bottleneck when I upgraded from a 1060 to a 3080) and my bottleneck is *barely* my cpu now

the thing with ram is the impossibility of matching additional sticks at a later date — even ones from the same manufacturer don't often work well with sticks made a few years later
