Well, the actual travel time would be a lot more than 2 hours. Start with whatever the travel time is to get to Gilroy on Caltrain, then about 2 to 2 1/2 hours on HSR to get to Palmdale, then about another couple of hours to get from Palmdale to Union Station in DTLA on Metrolink. So it might not end up saving much time over driving. That's assuming that the current system levels of service at each end stay as they are today. I would actually assume that they might improve the schedules for the regional services if this thing happens.
