masking absolutely helps and I personally wouldn't be caught dead on a show day without one because people do be straight up nasty and will be running a 103 fever and come and sit as close to the PEOPLE WORKING THE CON as they can so they don't get the larger crowd sick when they can just watch the same panel from the same vantage point IN THE APP IN THEIR HOTEL ROOM LMAO

I work in convention halls all the time and lemme tell ya, the first thing I notice is that my sense of smell disappears real quick because my sinuses go "AH YEAH FUCK THAT SHIT" and plug my nose to prevent me from breathing in that nastiness
