Public Bank Acquires LPI Capital
Public Bank (PBBANK) is acquiring as much as 175.9 million shares (44.2%) of LPI Capital for MYR1.72 billion or MYR9.80 per share. Upon completion, PBBANK will emerge as LPI's largest shareholder.
This represents unique opportunities for PBBANK to move towards a universal banking model to offer comprehensive and products and services as reported on TheEdge.
The acquisition translates into a 24.6% discount when compared with LPI's latest closing market price of MYR13. PBBANK mentioned it will maintain LPI’s listing status.
